by latinanurse4 Mar 25, '09Hello everyone out there. Im studying for my nclex and I test the 1st. Ive been using the Delegation prioritization and delegation book by Linda Lachirity and getting very discouraged..
My scores range from 50's! to high 80's and i feel so discouraged.. Can anyone out there share some insight on their scores before they took the nclex and or what I should be aiming at?? Thanks for reading!

- Mar 25, '09 by caliotter3Do not be discouraged by diagnostic scores. People often do poorly on predictor tests, then go on to pass the test. Concentrate on learning and applying the principles. If you must, go back over the material at a later time to insure you have learned and retained it. Good luck.
- Mar 25, '09 by waiting2exhalei am planning to get the book. can you give me some feedback on it please thanks and good luck.
- Mar 26, '09 by latinanurse4This book is really good but sometimes i think it contraindicates Kaplan.. For example a priority in a sickle cell client in this book is to give oxygen.. (which is my ithought as well) but a Qtrainer question said fluids is the priority.........Ughh!! So confusing!!

Don't worry about you scores. Just make sure you're reading the questions and learning why they are right or wrong and learning to think the way they want you to for the exam, that's more important. This book is great it helps with priority questions but remember to do a variety of questions. Good Luck to you!

- Apr 7, '09 by hopingtobeanRNsooni am thinking about getting the book too...it around 20$ right? after i have done the basics like the different systems, maternal and pysch i plan to focus on prioritization and delegation too...
- Apr 7, '09 by ChickenJoyRN,BSNI am using the book too. I think it's a great study aid for the priority questions. My favorite are the ones that give you 4 patients with different conditions and ask who to see first. I always get a few wrong but I learn from it just in case a similar scenario is asked on the exam. Take everyone's advice, don't use this book as a diagnostic test of how well you are doing. Focus on each question and learn why you got it right or wrong. Reading/understanding/retaining the rational is key. This book came highly recommended among my classmates and others on this website. I failed the first time and planning to take it in a few weeks and I can honestly say that this book has given me more confidence than I had before. Good Luck.!!!
