Hey guys..It's nice to know that there are many December takers here..I'm one too..I will be taking my first NCLEX_RN exam on the 21st..I'm really scared right now because I don't know what to expect..I'm recently answering cd question trainers of Kaplan but I'm planning to answer different kinds of cd questions just to master answering techniques..I'm doing 2 sets of 150 questions per day i think or three if my head can still take it ..I'm targetting to answer questions for 6 hours straight just to increase my stamina in case i got to answer until question # 265..I really am very nervous..My Kaplan scores in cd is like 60-70 percent only..This cd is really difficult compare to others i've answered..In Lippincott my range of scores is 68-75..

Can I still pass the exam with these scores in my cd training?..Hope I will..Because I've read in the forum that you have to get to like at least 95% to really pass. These really worries me a lot..

Well I hope we all pass..And I'm really praying for that..

Good Luck to all of us..and God Bless..

So, I finally feel I should not give up......I will be a retaker for 2nd time in December. I felt so low when I failed the test in July'07. I was thinking to take in october but just couldnt get motivated to study. In the meantime, I joined RN-BSN program. So, currently I am in school taking 15 credits of classes. I need to have my RN license before winter so I can do practical in communnity health, a required class for BSN.

After visiting this site almost everyday, reading success stories and encouragement given by one of my wonderful instructor from my ASN program, I am motivated to do it.

So, newcomers as well as retakers, Lets get together, support each other and lets pass the RN test. WE CAN DO IT.

For now, I have started practicing Q&A at least 2 hrs/day from Saunders CD. I will keep you updating and hope you all will share the tips as well.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US. TO THE SUPPORT GROUP :spin:.
Hope your studies are going well, have you taken the exam yet? Wishing you much success

Me, TOO!!! I just didn't want to jinx myself by revealing the date since I'm not even sure I'll be ready. But, I've been reading along finding the support and encouragement I need.

It's been 8 long years since I've tested! I have been studying since June but somedays it's hard to find that extra push. I study and study but feel like I'm getting nowhere. I read ALL of the Saunder's book and currently working on the CD. I just finished the 5 wk NCSBN course where I scored in the 60-70% range. Not too great, I guess. But, I haven't spent the last 6 months buried in the books to not go through with this!
If you repeated Are those your final % on retakes? I read somewhere on the threads of this board that they passed with scores in the 60%.
I'm cheering for you all the way!!!!!!

Right now, I am practicing question and answers from Saunders. I have kind of high and low days. Some days I am really hyper and finish almost 100-200 questions and some days I really feel depressed that I was not able to pass and even I sit in front of computer to practice questions, I get stuck in the first one thinking if I will be able to do it again or not. Hope, I don't have ADHD, depression or other MH problems. Sometimes, I really wonder whats wrong with me.

For now, I have scheduled my test to take in Dec 14th...... I will definitely update you guys in details after I give my test. Lots of luck to everyone.

We all have to pray and study hard. I hopefully will take the test at the end of December. I don't have a date yet. I am studying from Saunders and my final week I will do the Kaplan qbank 1-7. I have been doing Saunders for about 4 wks and I try to do 100 questions a day, but it depends on the day. I do questions everyday but not 100 all the time. I will be praying for all who will be sitting for the exam.

I am using saunders and priority/delegation book.
I HATE the saunders book, I liked it during school, when we took specific content tests.... but for the nclex, I feel that it is too much info.

For content if you are buying a book from the store, I like the "HESI review for NCLEX" it's very simple and divided into sections....medsurg, peds, psych, ob, and geriatric. And along with each section are the meds commonly tested for each disease.

I bought the kaplan whole package, so I used the book that came with the course, as well as listened to the FEUER cd's.
but felt that kaplan was the best to study for the nclex-rn
