So heres the thing. Im a Canadian RN, have been working since 2007. Since Im looking into going to work in GA, I had to write the NCLEX, and think I was fairly well prepared for it. I studied and came on here a lot for strategies. Then I also read about how getting a lot of SATA questions is usually good, so I counted more or less how many I got, and was given like 15 or so. I was feeling pretty confident because of that, so my heart sank when I wasnt stopped at 75 questions. They did however stop me at 76... Now Ive been stressing myself out with that darn 76th question!! Why give me one more?! And my mind blanked after the test stopped so I dont even remember what the question was or even if I was sure of the answer...I am going to be so stressed until I get the results...48 hours can NOT go by fast enough!

Do the PVT, try to log on to sign up to take the exam again, if it doesn't take you to the CC page, you passed.. My computer shut off at 76-78 not real sure and I felt the same way.. I still passed.. Good luck !!!

I tried to do that but since I registered over the phone, I have no account made for online, and it made me enter my CC information before I even entered what exam I wanted to register for...is that a bad sign?

I don't know anything about the phone process.. I only know the on-line. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya :)

Hey!

I just took the NCLEX and I had 265 questions . Trust me, I felt the same when the computer didn't stop at 75! One thing I know for sure is the number of questions DOES NOT mean you passed of failed. I passed with 265 questions. I know people that have passed with 85, 190, etc. Try to relax and keep your mind off of it! The 48 hours were terrible for me and I couldn't get my mind off of it so I do understand how you feel but I kept myself busy with watching shows and hanging out with my sisters! I wish you the BEST of luck! & know that this test doesn't determine what kind of nurse you will be! Stay positive!

Praying for ya! :)

when i took mine i had 5 sata,,but loads of who to see ist type of question...75q im done and passed.its hard to tell...but heres my theory i hope im right...76 less 15 =61... That means in 61 q you will need to get more right than wrong at least 40/61 then sure u got this...15 of those question are pilot questions which means they are not counted...so who knows..maybe number 76q is a pilot question. but if you feel that you are getting alot of high level questions that means you are on a passing level...i sincerly wish you a goodluck.you seems well prepared lets pray that you got this one

So I called the Pearson Vue people and they gave me my ID and temp password...I did the PVT, and the happy window popped up...I was so relieved I got dizzy and had palpitations lol. However I wont be able to get the unofficial paid for results until Tuesday!!

I was just wondering does that mean you dont take nclex in canada?

We have a different exam. In Quebec we take a written short answer exam and what we call OSCEs, which are live, practical exams with actors and teachers watching us. The rest of Canada has a different exam, but I dont know what their format is.
