I scheduled my nclex & I am terrified to take it really just want to have a little bit more time to review. I started working right after school & I have to admit I have not been studying as I should. My question is can you change your testing date with pearson vue without being charged a fee for doing so? Also, I know it's better to take the test fresh out of school because everything is fresh in your mind but how long did you all wait before you took you nclex?

I believe there is a $50 fee for changing your testing date with pearson vue. I graduated in Mid-December and started studying on January 5. Since I am not working, I have been able to study almost every day for 5-6 hours(Reading content and answering 100-150 questions/day). I scheduled my test date for next week.

Some of my classmates only studied for a couple of weeks and passed the NCLEX. I guess it is different for everybody.

i changed test dates during my first try and i wasnt charged. From what i know, you will need to change the date at least 24 hours before the test (doesnt apply to tests scheduled on mondays). i did it online and they sent me a confirmation receipt of change of test date.

my ATT was issued by California BON. Not sure if rules are the same for all BON.

There is no charge but if less than 24 hours as mentioned you can not change

I changed my test date/time/place a total of 4 times the same day I got my ATT. I kept checking back and there were dates and/or times that were sooner, and one time it was a testing facility that was more convienent to where I live. At first the first date was over a month away and I didn't want to wait that long.

One the 2nd day after getting my ATT, I again changed it several times for the same reasons, time more convient and date was sooner.

The 3rd day, I again changed it (I kept checking the site to see if time/dates opened up that were sooner than the test date/time I had).

I was not charged at all for any of my gazillion changes because I changed it more than 24 hours before the scheduled date.

To answer your 2nd question, my graduation was 6/22 and I tested 7/9. I didn't get my ATT until 7/2. I would have tested the day I graduated if I could have. Its been said its much better (and your chances of passing are greater) if you test within a month or so of graduation. The longer you wait to test, the more info you tend to lose.

ATT as well as scheduling for the exam is handled only by Pearson-Vue. Boards of Nursing are not involved with this end of things.

Since it is a national exam, then the same requirements for everyone. What works for one state will work for all of them.

Don't take the test unless you are prepared. Don't reschedule over and over. Buckle down and make yourself prepare. You are right, the longer you are out of school (without studying), the more you will have forgotten. Get serious about this and get it out of the way. You can do this. Good luck.

I waited too long. From my own personal experience I think it's best to take when when school is still fresh on your mind. Now I have to take it again and am very worried...
