Can anyone explain how the nclex is changing?

  1. I've read and heard that they're going to a new format. I'm not familiar with the old one, but would someone tell me the difference? Thank you

From what I understand, the "old" format was all multiple choice answers. The "new" format is multiple choice, multiple-multiple choice(where you choose all that are correct), and fill in the blank.

If anyone knows differently then please correct me, but this is what I have heard. HTH!! ~twintoo

I also heard that there was some anatomy involved too. ie. they show you of a picture of a body with say multiple arteries shown and ask you to pick out say, the brachial artery.

The nurses that have taken the new format have not had more than two questions in the new format, and some have had none. I wouldn't stress too much over it. Just prepare like you were going to prepare for the old format.

I have also heard there is going to be more of an emphasis on pharmacology as well.
