California Test Takers 6/23/08

Hello to all of you Caifornia Test Takers

I took The NCLEX Exam on Monday, June 23, 2008 at The Pearson Vue Center in San Diego. The Test was Extremely Odd & Difficult. I went all the way up to 265 Questions. I got 3 Very Complicated Drug Calculations, (So Difficult that I didn't Know where to Begin) & at least 20+ Select all that Apply. I Thought I was going to go CRAZY! The Questions Were Extremely ODD. I felt that I was Doing OK at various points because it seemed like when I got a string of Questions Right, the next question would be a Select All That Apply Question. I was running out of time, & had 3 minutes to Spare when I hit 265. I am confident that I got the last question correct because I looked it up when I returned home. However; The Kaplan Study Guide Book says that if an Examinee answers the last Question, & It is not considered "At The Highest Level Of Difficulty" The Examinee fails. What Do they Consider The Highest level Of Difficulty? Are they the Select all that Apply, Or Drug Calculations? In My Opinion, The Entire Exam Was At "The Highest Level Of Diffulty". They couldn't have made it any Harder if they tried. My name is Not posted on the CA Board of Nursing. Did anyone else in here in California especially in San Diego, here anything one way or another? One Post said that her name is already posted & she took the exam on Monday, 6/23/08. I Think The Board is getting "Carried Away" with this "Highest Level of Difficulty" thing. I feel like they are making it nearly impossible to pass. Please, if anyone out there took The NCLEX on this date, & you have heard something, Please let me know. My File is already complete, & has been for sometime. I Can't Bear To go thru this Again. Please Help.

The impossibilities of this exam is possible. So many have been passing and they have walked out the same way you did, feeling like the exam was so difficult. So, hang in there You will receive good new soon. I test in Cali on 7/1. It takes a few days to 1 month for Cali.
Good luck to ya....

All the best,i took mine yesterday&it was so disappointing with
-6-10 Select All That Apply Questions from all areas i.e signs&symptoms + mx of conditions in adult health
-4 drug Calculations that included conversions.
I never expected anythg like that.My guess is its a fail coz such SATA one isnt sure if u'll miss out smthg unless u hv crammed the conditions& r on ur finger tips.

msmorningglory,

My friend also tested monday and hasnt received results. Just be patient since they sometimes take forever to update the website. Like you said, dont get carried away, somehow I dont believe the kaplan instructors. How did you study for the test? I also took Kaplan, but I am nervous it might not help in my test. I think the number of questions dont mean if you passed or fail, like suzanne has said. I take mine next week so Im also nervous as I am also in California and they take time to update it. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
