Background checks

I graduated from LPN school in Dec 2004.I have just sent off for boards. I live in Fl. and went through hurricane Ivan, lost everything and didn't have the $$ to send, so I am just now doing it. I was curious if anyone with a past like mine had any problems sitting for boards. My brother-in-law(who is now incarcerated)stole some checks from my husband and I and forged my signature and caused several checks to bounce( like 8 years ago). Like an idiot, hoping he would straighten out didn't press charges. I ended up on probation until the checks and court fees were paid because the checks had already gone to State's attorney. I ended up violating because I was unable to pay all the fees in time.To make a long story short, all I had to do when I went to court was pay the fees that were left and charges would be dropped and adgudication of guilt was with held. paid everything and all is clear now and has been for 7 years, I just am hoping that something stuphid like this will not keep me from getting my license or furthering my education. Please if anyone has experienced or know anyone that has please let me know. The nerves are eating a whole in my stomach. The school I graduated from never said anything about background etc.

I had a misdemeanor for shoplifting and it was nearly 9 years ago also. I was approved by the state to sit for the NCLEX RN. Just BE HONEST about it that is all they care about. Good Luck.
