Average KAPLAN scores and passed NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

I just want to post this for the people who were in my position. I have never had so much anxiety before. When i did Kaplan i felt they have very good strategies. But I was very scared because I did not get really good scores.

My diagnotic test was a 58% and the Kaplan people said it should be around 65. My question trainers were very bad.

QT1 49%

QT2 48%

QT3 49%

QT4 49%

QT5 52%

QT6 54%

QT7 58%

Never got to that 65%

My q bank average was 55%

I just want to tell those people who feel like they aren't doing good enough that its ok. Just keep doing question read every rationale and even why the answer is wrong! This helped me out much better than just reading or watching the videos.

If you took the Kaplan class i suggest you also watch the videos of the questions because the video told me info that the kaplan teacher forgot to mention.

Do all the Qbanks and go over all the rationales. I though I was going to fail, my test stopped at 75. So I thought "yep I failed!" I did not have that much confidence. So please I hope this gives some of you a peace of mind that you can do it. Oh and just in case your wondering Kaplan was the only review course I took.

Good luck to everyone and I hope you all pass.

Thank you for listening!

Hello all,

BTW, i passed the Nclex-RN first time with 75 Questions in 75 minutes and Kaplan is the only course (took almost 2000+ questions and scored approx 50% to 60%) I took.

Good luck to everyone still taking it ! There is hope for everyone !

Just took my boards Saturday. Had 75 questions and got the "good pop up" from pearson vue a few hours later.

For me on Kaplan I had a 69 on the diagnostic a 57 on readiness. Did 2/3 of q-bank questions

QT1:64

QT2:64

QT3:47

QT4:57

QT5:59

QT6:63

QT7: Didn't take it.

HESI:706 before kaplan review course

HESI:936 after review course (our school wanted an 800 to release you)

OB was my weakest so I tore up all the OB questions in Saunders to prepare me. I also took the comprehensive test at the end of Saunders and got a 60%. I never felt ready, I don't think its possible to ever feel ready because you can't know everything. But you can be safe and thats what the NCLEX wants to know. I thought my NCLEX wasn't as intense as the HESI or Kaplan. I'd say NCLEX

Thanks for this info! I start my first Kaplan class tomorrow and have had comparable scores. I was kind of discouraged in the beginning but I feel more confident now! My test date is scheduled for June 21st and I'm hoping that Kaplan will help me pass!

I have my exam scheduled for 6/22, and I feel like its just coming sooo quickly, I've been doing questions every day, I either do a Qbank or one of the Qtrainers. Sofar my I've done 70% of Qbank scores ranging from 44(in hte beginning) to 68.

Qtrainer 1: 45

Qtrainer2: 53

Qtrainer 3: 55

Qtrainer 4: 55

Qtrainer 5: 61

Qtrainer 6: 56

Qtrainer 7: planning to do.

Qbank average: 55%

I don't plan on pushing my exam out I know that would just add anxiety. I just feel the stress building because I have a job lined up and If I were to fail I would lose my job and I feel like I'd be back at square one again. I'm trying to remain positive but I"m starting to get nervous. I know I"ll never be able to be 100% ready but how are these scores in comparison to the possibility of passing??

Your never going to feel completely ready, no one does. I believe the national pass rate is 86%. And that is first time so well over half of nurses pass their first time. I believe there is a table that even breaks down state rank. Also you can even check out your schools rating so you can feel even more confident. Nursing school gets you ready to take this test, not just to be a good nurse but a good multiple choice test taker. Go in with all the confidence you can muster, real or fake, confidence is confidence. :)

Congratulations! may i know what Kaplan program you took? on-demand, classroom anywhere? and how did you study? please give me tips.. i'm planning to take the exams by july..:)

I'm taking my NCLEX tomorrow AHHH.

I feel confident because i have gotten 60-65% on all the trainers in kaplan... I still have little things that I forget though, newborns have so many random things about them that I can keep straight. Also I keep forgetting how to go up and down the stairs with a cane and crutches!

i got 67% ob Q trainer 6 today and I don't know if that's good enough....

kaplan says aim for 60 on Qtrainer 6 or 7 so it seems like a 67 would be really good for Qtrainer 6 but thats just my opinion...

God I hope I pass this NCLEX next week.

My Qbank avg is around 54%.

QT 1-5 are about 63% avg.

I am starting to get SO nervous for my exam, its on Wednesday! I finished qtrainer 7 and got a 60% on it....and my qbank average is a 55% and i've done a total of 87% of the questions....recently i've been getting between 60-68s on my qbank, but I'm just really starting to worry if its good enough or not, I just feel like my test is so soon. But regardless I'm not going to reschedule, i'd just build up more anxiety of i did.

I dont think anyone can ever feel prepared. I sure dont. The more I think about my exam on thursday, the least I know. But I am sure it's just nerves. My family is telling me to relax on wednesday, but I dont think I can. It feels like I still have SO much to do.

I got 60% on Q trainer 7 also.
