ATI Predictor Test Score in relation to Pass/Fail NCLEX - page 2

My school has us take the 3 hours ATI Predictor Test just before we graduate. The score I got according to ATI says that I have a 91% chance of passing the NCLEX. That isnt so bad for not studying. ... Read More

    Hello,
I would have to take the ATI predictor on April 24th and I'm freaked out about the 90%tile thing. Although I know that it changes, what would be approximately 90%tile? 70%? I don't know. Please give me some advice! Thanks!

I wouldn't worry much about predictor tests. Most of my classmates failed the test just like I did and I never heard of anyone not passing the NCLEX.

Question, How is the score calculated? Does it identify areas of weakness for further study? What percentage do you have to have correct for example 110 questions of 180 correct coorelates to 80% pass rate. I would appreciate any input. I am going to take this test at the end of april in order to graduate. Just looking for some input on those who have taken it before. Thanks

I dont just understand why people will say never to worry abt the test. Because if u fail this so call test,YOU ARE OUT OF THE PROGRAM FOR GOOD. All year worked for is wasteful. Anybody out there should be able to give advice toward the test. Positive vibe is need!!!!!:clphnds:

Hi, I took the RN predictor march 26, 09. i must say that i did not really study for it i work full time and was busy with my mentorship so i was kinda nervous. i also did not pass any of the ati tests throughout the program so i was nervous about that too. anyway i got a 74% on the predictor which gave me a 94% chance of passing the nclex on the first attempt. all of my co-workers who i have talked to that have taken the predictor and had in the 90%'s of passing the nclex did pass on their first attempt. i am still a little skeptical about how accurate it is thought, but i think thats just my nerves.

So, I've been studying like insane for this ATI since my school is all crazy about it and they're saying: "you don't pass, you're done" whatever! I just want to pass since I have put so much effort into it... has anyone taken this test in the last few days who can tell us what's the 90 percentile was? I mean, example, 70%=90 percentile?
    Thanks!

imo ati is very accurate, it calculated that i had a 98% chance of passing and i passed my nclex with flying colors (although i didn't feel that way coming out of the testing center, lol)

I got 98% on ATI Pedictor Test and I feel very relieved. Test was fairly simple but many of the questions required serious critical thinking skills. I plan to take NCLEX in May. I will post after finding out NCLEX results to see how they coorelate with the ATI. Wish me luck.

Remember-- if you received a predicted probability of success of 90% on ATI this means: "For every 100 students with this score, 90 are predicted to pass and 10 are predicted to fail" (ATI Score and Explanation- Individual Performance Profile, 2009).

Since you said you didn't study for the Comprehensive, it would probably be a good idea to study for NCLEX-- either a self-guided NCLEX prep book or an NCLEX prep course. You don't want to be one of those ten out of 100 that does not pass.

did not take ATI predictor test but i tried taking other predictor test whether i have a good chance of passing the NCLEX....a few days before im taking the exams I have a result of 65% <----not a very good sign of passing the Nclex knowing ill be taking it in a few day.....But with God's help I was able to pass the NCLEX for the first try....so i dont believe that Aaati or any other predictor test has a relationship in passing or failing the Nclex...

I know this is old, so I don't know if my reply will help, but per ATI these are the correlating scores to percentiles:

% correct on ATI / % Chance of passing NCLEX on first try
    82-100% / 99
    79.3-81.3% / 98
    76-78.7% / 96-97
    74-75.3% / 94-95
    72-73.3% / 91-93
    70.7-71.3% / 89-90
    68.7-70% / 85-88
    67.3-68% / 82-84
    65.3-66.7% / 76-80
    62-64.7% / 63-73
    56.7-61.3% / 38-60
    0-56% / 1-36
