Anyone taking the Excell Nursing Review at Burbank this June 2014?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello Nurses,

I'm planning to take the comprehensive nursing review classes at Excell in Burbank this coming June. I'm looking for a study buddy (or study buddies) living near the Los Angeles/Valley area. Please let me know if you're interested. :) email me at [email protected]

Has anyone tried any review centers and know which ones are good too? I do hope Excell is worth every penny I spend.

Let me hear your thoughts. Feel free to comment.:cat:

Hello, I'm planning to attend excell review class in September but still undecided. Just want to know if you like the review? How was it? Would you recommend it? Thanks.

Hope you reply because it will help me decide if I will attend or not. Thanks.

I took excell before. I'd suggest hurst! I passed with hurst cuz of the content review!

Why? Isn't it a good review? Thanks for replying. :)

It's good! Try it and it might work for you! Everyone's different :)

What are the reasons why it didn't work for you? Thanks. :)

Hi, so i tried excell last June, i wouldnt

discourage anyone who wants to try it,

but tbh, i wasnt really that satisfied with the review :| i dont know, probably cos i was able to compare it with the review i've had when i took the local boards in the phils., and darn, they were really good, but anyway, the thing is i expected way too much for excell, they do focus on the content but the materials and stuff they teach are aiming more on having you memorize facts instead of really understanding them. And the pre answered practice tests they gave were very low quality, not even well-rationalized during the discussion. no copy of rationale at all. But a lot of people do like their review so, its really up to you. So far almost all the LVNs who took the class in june, passed but for RNs, ive only heard of only one who passed it out of 10 people who recently took nclex. Im about to take mine in less than 2 weeks. Im nervous as. But there's no magic really in any review class. The real magic is in our efforts, i believe. Study hard, pray harder. Goodluck to all of us i'll keep you guys posted on how i did on the test and i'll let u know what materials i used to prepare for it :)

I definitely agree with you. It's more of memorizing the material. On the other hand, hurst is more on content and it's easier to understand. I've tried NCSBN, excell, Kaplan (qbanks are good) but Hurst worked for me. Like I said, everyone's different. I've been out of school for years so I really needed something to refresh my memory. If you've just graduated, the other options might be better for you. :) Check out my nclex advice. It might help! Pray and know that you can do this!!! :) Good luck! You can do it!

I graduated and passed the local boards last 2012. My fingers are super crossed. What scares me the most is the fact that almost every international grad who took the nclex rn just recently, failed. It really made me super curious on how hard the exam really is for almost everyone to fail it :| kept asking myself what edge i have to those who failed, if i would ever make any difference. Well, we all are under different situations and a lot of factors affect how we do on the exam. I just really really hope i pass it on the first try :|

Try not to think/compare yourself with the others. You can do this :) know your content, know what would a SAFE nurse do? Pray! :) you can do this! Don't let your anxiety get to you! Do the best you can!

Hello guys thanks for replying. Yeah I think it depends on the person if the review is for them or not. But thanks for giving me info about the review. It will help me decide if I will enroll or not..

Hi rtiishai, i know you will do well on your exam. Just clear your mind and be positive ok. You will pass it. :) I will include you to my prayers. :) please update us.
