Anybody else do 265 questions?

  1. Okay well I took my NCLEX-RN today and feel like a really failed..I didn't know anything on there!!! I did the total 265 questions and I was wondering what were my odds of passing with 265? I am leaving for a cruise tomorrow and don't think it's a good idea I check my results until I get back. Anyone have advice QUICK?!?!?

I don't know too many people who leave the nclex feeling like they passed the exam. check your results and have a fun cruise...I bet you passed. and if you didn't have fun and come back and regroup for a 2nd try.

I just wanted to wish you all the best on your results. Do a search on here. There is a thread that talks about people who had 265 and passed. You still have a chance of passing. Statistically odds are in your favor. NUMBER OF QUESTIONS YOU GET DOES NOT DETERMINE PASS/FAIL. All the best! Let us know when you find out.

i had 265 questions and failed , my cousin had 265 questions and passed:hatparty: . so it is always 50/50 chance of passing and failing....

best of luck to u:P enjoy while waiting for the result.:spin:

For US-educated, first-time testers, there is an ~85% chance of passing and that percentage holds up whether the exam cuts off at the minimum, the maximum, or somewhere in between.

Good luck to you! Enjoy the cruise - you've earned it!

I stopped at 265 but failed.Don't worry!they say,as long as ur computer is running, then ur doing good. And no particular score determines a pass or fail. You can make it!!!so goodluck on your result and have a happy new year.....

Well I did not pass..I checked them using quick results on the last night of my cruise..I had expected the worst so it was okay. I am just going to prep more and hope I get some different questions..The good thing is my job is still going to let me work and go through the same orientation and all the same thing everyone else is doing..but I will be making $8.75 an hour less...but hey atleast it will pay the bills...I have one REALLY big question..how do you keep focused on this test..by #70 I was tired and by #265 I am not sure I was reading any more..I just cannot stand to sit and look at a computer screen for that long...A nurse I know told me I should ask my doc about trying Inderal (which one of the unlabeled uses is situational anxiety) but I have a script for xanax which I chose not to take on test day because I was afraid it would put me in the oh whatever kind of mood..so any suggestions!?!?!?!

Good luck as your prepare for the retake. You might try briefly closing your eyes when you get to the point that it's hard to think straight.

We don't give medical advice here, but I think it's safe to say that you shouldn't make any changes or additions (pharmacologic or non-pharmacologic) to your usual routine on the day before or day of the exam.

I failed with 265, but that does not mean anything, people pass or fail with any number, sorry to hear you fail, wishing you the very best the next time around

A friend of mine just took her test last week for the second time. First time she got 80 questions and failed...second time she got all 265 and passed.
You do know you can take breaks during your test...get up and walk around etc....maybe you need to try that. I understand the focusing....I had a hard time and mine shut off at 75. Good luck to you the next go round.

Thanks..well I did get my official results today and I was near passing on all of the items...I guess that's better than being below passing...but then I am like I hope I wasn't 10 or 20 questions from passing ya know..anyways..I go to new nurse orientation tomorrow and I hope no one says something since I will be in a different color scrubs and my name tag says patient care associate..lol that's kinda emberassing but hopefully no one will say..oh you are in the wrong place..

I also did 265 questions my first time and failed.....the second time around I had 89, and failed also, so I found out the hard way that it doesn't matter at all the amount of questions you are given. I do not like they way you get the break down of how you did, I mean, near passing?? Below passing? Yeah, I hate it.....but next time Right?
