Any info. reguarding NCLEX-PN Books/CDS, and Date of Exam?

Updated Dec 22, 2008 at 08:12 PM by K. Murphy SPN

I just purchased the Kaplan Nclex-pn Strategies, and I have been studying from Saunder's 3rd Edition. I also started doing Cliff's PN notes. Is there any specific number of questions that you did on a daily basis that made you feel confortable/ confident when you took your test.

I have been doing roughly 50-80 quest. every day, and writing down the rationales of the ones i get wrong. Is it true that if you do too many questions, you feel burnt out when you sit for boards?
Also if you can recall how long after you graduated, did you sit for your boards?

Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Happy Holiday's!!

I have been using Saunders and reviewing each week since I started nursing school. I am waiting for my ATT. I will be ready whenever I receive it. I am in an RN program, so as soon as I pass the NCLEX-PN, I am going to shift my focus and start prepping for the NCLEX-RN. I looked at the Kaplan book and several other PN books. In my opinion, the Saunders is the best hands down. I also use Saunders to prep for course work and exams in the nursing program. I also use it for care plans and just getting more familiar with the nursing process and WIIFMP (what's in in for my patient). In other words, what will help me meet the patient's needs...

I graduated 20 yrs ago and failed the NCLEX. I finally have boosted my courage and will be taking the NCLEX-PN. Am reviewing Kaplan-PN (2010) and am wondering if anybody else recommends it. Also, how do I get a mentor?

OP It sounds as if you have a good plan. You might consider upping your questions to 100 or so a day.
Vebert You might consider taking an NCLEX review class to get you jump started. It couldn't hurt. Then you can continue with self study afterward.

I don't know what the "best" item to use is but I too am using Saunders primarily and will start looking at the Kaplan Q/A Bank for LPN's. I'm also trying to do 100 questions a day.

Hope this helps a little
