Am I ready?

by ohiomom

I'm scheduled to take my N-CLEX RN August 2 at 1pm. But, am I ready? I've been doing about 100 questions a night in Lippincott and Mosby. I'm getting about a 65%-70% on them. On my exit HESI I scored 1073, 94%. Plus, we HAD to take the Sylvia Rayfield review. There just seems to be so much to do still to be ready. I would love to do the mosby RN cat, but don't have the extra $40 to do it. So, do you think that I'll be ok with what I'm doing? I got pretty much straight B's in school. Thanks
Jamie

Whether you decide to take it now or later, I wish you the best of luck.

Default passing
I took Kaplan and scored 60's and low 70's on their tests. I would suggest to you to purchase Saunders Q and A. It is worth it. Those tests were in my situation the truest form to the actual test. There is about 3000 questions and a comprehensive test as well. On the tests in that book I was getting mid 70's to mid 80's. GOOD LUCK

Hi Jamie!
I think that you are studying just perfectly! Your scores on your 100 questions that you are doing are in line with what everyone else is doing on this site. I would keep reviewing what you feel weak in, and study lab values to a "T". Right before I took the boards, I almost purchased the mosby RN cat, but decided against it - I still passed with 75 questions. Keep doing the 100 questions a day! Most recommend answering 3000 questions before you sit for the boards. If you absolutely HAVE to study something else, I would go with Saunders Q&A. Best of luck - and keep us posted!

I think you're doing just fine! Whatever you decide to do, just know that you will NEVER feel totally ready to take it. I just took it last Thurs. Before I took it I was finding stuff all the time that I didn't know, I felt like there was so much stuff that I still hadn't covered.

You do need to know your content, but you also need to just use good nursing judgement when answering the questions ..... think ABC, Maslow, etc. You'll do just fine!! Good luck to you, Jamie!!
