5 years out of school is it still hopes that I can pass Nclex???

Students NCLEX

Hello everyone let me start off by saying that I'm so disappointed in myself that I never took the Nclex right after I finished School. I had a few mishaps and it kept me from taking it. I'm not letting anything stop me anymore, I want to become a nurse. I'm tired of talking about it to my friends and family each year and never get it done. I just wanted to know if there was anyone else in the same situation as me that passed Nclex. Please Please tell me what you did to pass. I really need support. I have forgotten so much I already downloaded the 30 page facts sheet please HELP ME. Thanks so much

Im in the exact same situation that you are in, what state are you going to take the test without having to take more classes?

I'm in Ohio. In Ohio you don't have to take additional classes. The Ohio board of Nursing doesn't have a certain time that you have to take the test. It could be 20 years from now. But who wants to wait that long. I'm trying to take it as soon as possible.

I know you don't want to hear this, but I would take some type of refresher course! Five years is a long time and some of the information you learned could be outdated! Once you master content I would absolutely do Kaplan for the questions, they are very helpful

Yes 5 years is a long time. I feel so horrible that I waited this long. I will definitely take a refresher course. I will also try kaplan. Thanks so much!

I'm confused. Are you a current LPN who graduated from an LPN to RN bridge program and need to pass NCLEX-RN?

That would maybe make a difference in the advice you get.

(If you are trying to pass NCLEX-PN you will need to change your name as you are not yet an LPN)

I agree with some sort of review course - I thought most refresher courses were for licensed nurses who had been out of the field for a long time.

Good luck

Sorry if I confused you. I will change my name. I graduated from LPN school but haven't taken the Nclex. So I would be considered a PN graduate. Sorry lol.

Gotcha.

I've seen many people post their thoughts on various review programs - you might try to search them out here to see which might be a good fit for you.

Best of luck to you.

No because in Texas it's 4x within 4 years of your graduation date. Try Arkansas

I think it CAN be done. I also think it will be incredibly difficult. Like some others have said, I'd invest in a refresher class, even if your state doesn't require it.
