265 Questions, Failed, Please Help!!!!

Hello Everyone

I took my NCLEX on Thursday for the 2nd time and was told I failed on Saturday. Please help!!! I did the, Saunders Strategies for Success, Kaplan CD Trainer, Saunders Q&A CD and went through the chapter of the Saunders book and also read the Kaplan Book. I don't know what else to do. I can't give up because I have come to far. Please give me some useful advice please!!!

Oh Sunshine, I am so very sorry. Only thing I can recommend is to take an in-class Kaplan review or other class review type. That way you can ask questions of a live human and if you are still confused, insist that they answer until you are no longer confused. I know I couldnt' have done it completely by CD and text. I utilized the online academic tutor many times when I thought there were contradicitons or inconsistencies in the q-bank and rationales. Force them to see that they are imperfect and you are already using your critical thinking skills.

(have yourself a good personal moment first tho'!)

Keeping my fingers crossed. Keep that good positive attitude!

Thanks ChloeinAtl
I did a live review with Sylvia Rayfield and Lorretta Manning. Do you still think I need Kaplan?

I wasn't thrilled w/ my live Kaplan review b/c I was in PTSD and uable to focus. I had just been attacked in my home. So I was feeling rather unconfident and vulnerable. I moved that week and threw myself into review online, CD's, and refused to set my NCLEX date. A week and a half after receiving my ATT I did, but scheduled it for 5 weeks later. I felt that i had to start at the beginning to retrain myself and I didn't pre-study like I should have before each Kaplan class.

If I didn't have that tragedy, I would have been much more disciplined. When I had further self-doubt I also bought a 3 week review on NCSBN site. Very informative! Plus I was still utilizing Lipincott's NCLEX 3500 review adn my former R&R NCLEX tests.

I fell off the earth. No one believed me when I said all I did was study 16 hour days. I was a wreck. From what I've read of Suzanne's plan, it's all about following a process of review before testing before advancing to the next part. I wish I'd known about Suzanne's plan.

I also think Kaplan prepares you for the style of questions, but not the content. Best to get a sampling of different types of questions (Lipincott, Mosby, Saunders, ...)

Sorry i went a little long here. Still stunned that I passed. I know all too well what you are feeling regardless of my own status.

Thanks for the advice and I'm sorry about what happen to you. I completed the first part of Suzanne's plan last time but my test date was 4 weeks away and I didn't have the funds to change my date. Do you know if I need to schedule my test first before I pm her?

Yes you have to have date before you pm her or the time you think you are going to take it and make sure you finish the first tip before you pm her.
