Students NCLEX

Published

*Warning: Post might be a tad bit long*

I always said that when I finally passed NCLEX that I would come back to allnurses and tell about my nclex experience. I've been reading allnurses post since I started LPN school. So first let me start off by saying, I was not an "A" student. I was a "B" student through out my year in LPN school. I made a 69% on my Kaplan Readiness test. I graduated on April 22nd, 2016. After graduation I gave myself a MONTH to study. I used Kaplan Q bank, PDA, and NCLEX mastery app. I also used the study guide that has been floating around on allnurses. I completed all my q banks with an average of 61%. I also did my qbank sample tests. I made a 46% on my alternative sample test...lol. I didn't let that rain on my parade though. I did around 150-200 questions a day. Sometimes, I did fall off schedule and I did not study some days. (sorry it's the truth).

Sooooo on to the test day. My test was at 8:00 a.m. When I walked in I immediately had a calmness over me. I was still a little nervous, but for the most part I was calm. When I finally started the test I was thinking "Okay, it's not too bad". Then came the dreadful SATA. I know for a fact I had at least 35 to 45 SATA. I felt SATA was my weakness. I usually always picked one too many or one too less. Once I got to my 2 hour break, I was on question 43. YES 43!!! I was thinking, OMG if I get to 205 I will run out of time. So when I returned I TRIED to pick up my pace. But I still was moving slow for some reason. Once I got to question 50 or so I started to feel defeated. Then I closed my eyes and just prayed. A weight was automatically lifted off of my shoulders. I got to question 85 and then my computer SHUT OFF! I was so nervous that my hand was shaking when I had to raise my hand to leave. LOL! I was postive I had failed. I cried all the way home. I tried the PVT trick and I got the good pop 24 hours after. That next day, I knew around 7:00 p.m. nursys would post my license. So I waited till 7, and BAM!!!!! There it was! I had passed!!!!!!!! So this is just to motivate anyone out there, If I can do it so can you! Don't give up and pray whenever times get hard. You can do it!!!!:up::up:

Congratulations! You must feel so relieved. Thank you for sharing your story! I take mine on monday and I am a bit nervous... Almost all of my classmates have taken it and they have all passed, I hope I do too.

Congrats, and thanks for sharing your story. Just took my NCLEX-PN this morning, and I either did really good or really bad. Computer shut off with 85 questions in which I mist have had at least 30 to 40 sata questions. It seemed like every other question was a sata sometimes with 3-4 of them in a row. Waiting for my quick results to become available, till then trying not to fret over it.

I honestly can't tell you don't be nervous because it's only natural to be nervous about something this big. But what I can tell you to do is relax your day before. I believe that helped me A LOT! And read every question and answer choice thoroughly. You got this! Just continue to pray and soon you will be a nurse also. Think POSITIVE! ;). And also, everyone in passed had passed also. So it was more pressure on me. I didn't want to break the chain. LOL! But now we're 12 for 12. We only 3 left. We're shooting for a 100% pass rate!

You got this. Just study hard and read the rationale to each question. Rather you missed it or not. I believe that helped me. Also practice your SATA questions if that's your weakness. I know NCLEX mastery had a lot of SATA questions. Good luck to you and wish you success with your test on June 13th!

Congrats to you!!!! I just took my NCLEX-PN yesterday at 12pm. I am so anxious and nervous. It shut me off at 85 and i had a BUTT LOAD of SATA questions!! Grr those pesky questions. I left there feeling confused, disappointed, awful. After sleeping on it, I still feel that way today!! This 48 hour wait for my quick results is going to kill me

What state are you in? Do they not have nursys.com. That's what I used to find out I passed the NEXT day. They usually update around 7 p.m. Two days after my test, my license was on the actual nursing state board though.

Not sure yet officially how I did, quick results might be available tomorrow otherwise it won't be until Tuesday because of the holiday. I couldn't stand not having any idea so I did the PVT and got the "good pop up" at 24 hours after I finished my test. So definitely a good sign. Just need to try to be patient until official results are available.
