02/13/13 Nclex Exam and Pop Up

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I am the most anxiety prone person, I know. I worry about everything. I have studied for a good three weeks preparing for the Nclex. I have prayed for GOD to show me favor and INDEED HE DID.

I got to pearson vue... and I was shaky and nervous, sweating, and tripping over myself. I just kept saying Lord cover me with the blood of Jesus and prayed to St. Cupertino for test assistance. I'm Catholic.

Anyway I get the test and BAM question after question is SATA, I had at most 30, no JOKE, every time they appeared it was like a cruel joke . The first 10 SATA appeared, I was like, " Okay there shouldn't be anymore". I was wrong. When I was doing KAPLAN and NCLEX 4000 I had always get them wrong. So I'm scared. I had no math, no hotspot, not any other special questions but SATA. I nearly ****** my pants.

My test shut off at 75, I was horrified. 30 SATAs. 30 SATAs is all thought about. I shaking as I drive home. I'm weak and crying. I prayed the whole way home. I was too scared to do the POP UP until today this morning and said I need to check, so I can sleep.

I did the pop up trick and got the good pop up. I'm shaking still of shock.

My advice for SATAs is get NCLEX 4000 and do the alternate style of question, I think they had like 264 and I sat there and did them all. I also recommend to get NCSBN, HURST, KaplaN Q-bank, NCLEX 4000. The one I think that best had the feel of NCLEX was NCSBN questions. Try to answer ALL the questions and read the modules.

I just want to thank GOD, St. Cupertino for my helping me.

I also want to thank allnurses.com for their unofficial study guide.

Congrats! do you think if qbank is more practical to purchase than on-demand?

The kaplan qbank is a practical purchase to me b/c I had the book. They teach the same stuff they have in the book. Secondly the test is content period. I don't have 500 dollars to give anybody and I barely had 300 hundred to spend to get the q bank. Now if you want the class, q bank, and q trainers for you that's fine too, my opinion. NCSBN has a great content and Hurst had good content too me. The NCSBN questions were similar to Nclex to me, Kaplan was fifty split for me.

Thank you! I think im just gonna get the qbank i need to plan resources for practice questions until I take my exam. Im almost done with Mary Ann Hogans book which is a structured from NCSBN notes, and their questions are somewhat like the nclex. I did hurst and yes she also helped me to remeber some important notes I think marilyns voice got stuck in my head everytime I answer practice questions I think i can hear her saying "..look for the pra-OR-ri-ty". lol

Took my nclex today and dint get the good pop up as the registration took me to the payment option!!!!!! is this mean I fail for sure??? Any ideas?? I can't sleep!!!

Thanks...What I did was I did as much SATAs questions I could. On Nclex 4000/3500 and selected alternative style questions...It was 264 questions on Nclex 4000 out that I probably got 80/264...I also learned little about EKG strips doing that, at least I would have known a little about, but they never showed up on my exam. I set out one day and did as much SATAs I could of done. MY best advice is if you have never read or heard it to be true DON'T pick it. On the Nclex read every statement slow, because it could be one word that could make it wrong, I saw that a lot. Good Luck on your exam davi.

Thanks julz, it really does, been in nursing school, had graduation, studying for N-clex for almost a month, and 2hrs and 45 minutes just solidified my future.

Congrats to you too!!

Same thing happened to me! I swear half my questions were SATA and I was beginning to panic. I think I felt confident (like for SURE I got them right) on maybe five questions. It shut off on 75 questions for me too... was out of there in under an hour and i thought something was seriously wrong!

Congrats on passing!

Congrats.. Thank you for sharing ur experience..
