Where do you keep your PDA/iPod?

I am starting NS in the fall, and I've read a lot of posts (and talked to a lot of students) suggesting buying a PDA/iPod Touch/Smart Phone, etc. Thankfully, I already have an iPod Touch, and have found many valuable applications for it to help me in clinicals.

My question to all of you who already have/use one, either at work or in clinicals as a student-- where do you put it while you're working?! I wouldn't want to put it in my bag if it wasn't locked up somewhere (no idea if I will be able to lock up my stuff yet..), because I'd obviously not want it to get stolen, and I also feel like keeping it in my bag will make it a struggle to have to go get it when I need it.

BUT, I also worry about keeping it in my pocket and having it fall out or get crushed during patient care, or getting any fluids on it.........

What has your experience been with this? Thanks in advance!

I a male LPN with an iPod Touch. I always wear Landau cargo pants with bunches of thigh pockets. My Touch is in a Speck PixelSkin, which is a rubber-based product with 1/2" squares as a grip. It doesn't slide anywhere and doesn't really drag in the pockets beacuse they're not snug pockets. It's in my pocket at work all the time.

I used an HP iPAQ during my clinicals, it stayed in my pocket all the time too. That's the general idea, to have the information handy. j
