Unbound vs. Skyscape

I've used Nursing Central on an HP 111 since last May and I like it a lot. Just in the last week, they published a version for the iPod Touch and were good enough to let me download a copy with a subscription concurrent to the Win Mobile version.

I like the Touch version pretty well, I just make too many mistakes with the software keyboard on the Touch (but I'm getting better). One thing about the Skyscape version of Taber's and the Davis Drug Guide is that those titles will exist in an integrated interface that can include the other Skyscape titles. A few of these are available for free on iTunes. Among them are many dedicated calculators. I don't know if these are accessible directly through the Skyscape interface, but it'd be quicker than swapping through other applications.

I do seem to recall seeing something at the Skyscape web site that said that the nursing apps were all directly accessible between one another. Seems like I saw it on one of the support FAQS.

Right now I use the iPaq because I'm so much faster with it, especially if I were to l jot down a note. I may move toward the Touch, though, as there are so many other apps available. j

I have the Palm TX with Skyscape's Nursing Constellation on it. I love it !!! The programs are all linked together so if you look up a disease or medication, and want to see it related to lab tests or drug interactions, etc.. you have no difficulty doing so. It was definitely worth the $90.00!!

So just to verify:

If using Constellation if you enter a keyword it will go into other programs and pull out information whereas Nursing Central if you enter a keyword it will only look in one program as opposed to all of the programs?

I'm looking at Unbound Nursing Central on my Touch right now. Let's look up, for instance, 'beta blockers' in Davis' Drug Guide. Up comes a list of beta blocker meds, of course, as well as one generic 'beta blockers' entry. Selecting this gives us the general med information for beta blockers. At the bottom of the screen, one of four icons is a bidirectionally oriented pair of arrows. Tapping this gives us the list of entries throughout all the Nursing Central contents. j

Well, i think it's good to check the below link & select the "smartlink" feature of Skyscape on the left.

Skyscape also provides you with over the air updates and this happens quickly. I found the medalert feature of skyscape to be very helpful...chk it out

I'm going to purchase the Nursing Constellation but which version should I go with and what are the major differences between these 3?

Nursing Constellation Plus™ is good for Nursing students & Nurses and the third one 'Clinical Constellation' is helpful for the physicians.
