iPhone applications?

i was just wondering, first off if you owned an iPhone and if you used it in school or work, and if so, what particular "apps" do you use or recommend?

Oh lets see. I absolutely LOVE my iPhone, I have so many apps on there but they are mostly for fun. However for nursing school I just recently purchased an iPod touch 8g to use solely for nursing. I have the application skyscape which is perfect. On this application you can purchase Hundreds of books to have at your fingertips in the clinical setting. I have on there my drug guide, my IV drug guide, Davis' lab test which are my 3 essentials for clinicals right now. Other than that for nursing there is a few random applications out there but it depends on what you need them for. I also have on my iPhone a little med dictionary in case I need to look up a foreign word.

hope this helps...

I am interested to learn about the reasons that you would use an iphone and the applications during clincals. When you are talking about the applications and the books, do you mean that you can download the book onto the iphone and just look up information just like you were reading a book. The instructor said something about cutting and pasting info that was generic, like meds that were similar on patients, etc... I am new so I have no idea about how this would benefit me. Can someone plese help me out here? Thanks.

Yes you can have it all on your Itouch or Iphone instead of the books. You open the app just like you would online and type in the drug, or disease or diagnosis or calculation etc. it's a convenience thing, some people rather use books and stuff still, but for me I love having it all in one little device!

I really like Shazam on my iPhone. It will listen to a song and give you name of it, the Band and album and a quick link to buy it on iTunes. It doesn't even need to hear lyrics, just music.
