Its bad enough that I have to purchase a PDA and then to have a high phone or internet bill on top of it. I really never put any thought into how much money it costs just to be a nursing student.
I've got a Palm TX, and have used it with the Nursing Central package for a couple years. With the Davis drug guide & some other programs, you will want occasional internet access to download program updates. With the TX, this occurs when you "hot sync" the TX to your desktop/laptop system, as long as your desktop/laptop is connected to the internet at the time.
With some PDA programs, they can access the errornet to download more detailed info, but you don't need access to use the software on a day-to-day basis.
