? about IPod touch

My teenage daughters both have IPod touches and I love the feel of it. I have a Palm TX and I love the capabilities, but I hate how bulky it is.

Right now, I have Skyscape's constellation, tabers, and saunder's Q&A downloaded plus Epocrates free RX on the TX

Can someone explain to me how the IPod touch works with skyscape. Can you access the programs if you are not in an area with wifi. We live in a rural area without much wifi access. The last clinical site I was at did not have access.

I'd love to switch over but I want to be able to access the programs regardless of internet access.

TIA!

YOu need wife to download the content the first time and to do the updates. Once it's on your Touch it's there for good. You install the initial program using ITUnes and then download the content you purchase.

Does the itouch have to have a subscription like the blackberry does to work?

No, the Touch is a standalone device like a normal PDA, not a phone. No subscription required. Plenty of applications, including a lot of free ones, to download. I'm liking mine so far for the freebies, and think I'll wait until school starts to decide on the paid ones. Whether to go Skyscape Constellation or Constellation Plus, or pick and choose apps individually.

Just got mine and can't wait to see what it'll do for me after I start classes in the fall. In the mean time I am enjoying playing games and house hunting using it.

Congrats!

If it didn't come with OS 3.0 (if you can search your device by scrolling page 1 of your desktop to the right, you have OS 3.0 installed) I'd hold off on getting it for a bit. A number of apps are not updated to run on 3.0, and a bunch of people have had assorted problems upgrading to 3.0.

Just my $0.02...

I'd also check the other threads in this forum for suggestions and input on apps for the Touch.

Best wishes!

I just recently bought my iTouch and absolutely love it! I'm wondering if there are any free Skyscape applications. Do skyscape apps run on 3.0? I can scroll left and right with my pages so I am assuming that I have 3.0.
