I have had two Palm brand devices and have been happy with both. The first was a Zire 72, and I just got a TX last week.
There isn't much "configurability" with PDA's like computers. Most of the software requires a certain release of the OS that runs the PDA, not necessarily a faster processor.
The Tungsten E has always had good things said about it too.
    Those are just my thoughts.

I'm curious about something...what would a nurse need a PDA for?

As a staff nurse, I used several programs in the ER including a medi-dose calculator, an RSI calculator, the free Epocrates program for medications, calendar for my schedule, contacts for all the phone numbers in and out of the hospital.

As an APN, I use the Epocrates Pro ($150) for prescribing info, calendar and contacts. Plus, I use the memos to jog my memory for dictations, passwords for the inumerable computer programs I work with daily, general info for labs and which doctor likes which labs. I also use the notes where you can just write on the screen in regular handwriting which patients are at which hospital. Big help!
