Palm Pilot?

  1. Hello. I'm starting school this fall and wonder if one of the CRNAs or SRNAs could recommend a palm pilot. I figure I should get one soon. Thanks.

Everyone will tell you something different, seeing as to how there are so many good ones out there. Personally, I have a Tungsten E, and love it. Good luck in starting school!

Personally, I chose the Palm Tungsten C because it had more memory and a keyboard attached to it. The C was more expensive but I really like the keyboard feature, I wasn't sure how I would do with the graffiti.

My program is requiring us to have a PDA for clinicals that is compatible with the Palm OS. We will be using the Medatrax program to keep track of our clinical statistics.

    Good luck,

Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to palms.

One more thing I forgot to say about the Tungsten C is that is has Wi-Fi.
I'm not a computer genius but it allows me to get online because I have a LAN at home.

Interesting. I don't exactly know what you're talking about, but I'll write it down for shopping. Did you get yours before school started?

I recently replaced my Sony with a Palm Tungsten E. I did not need all the bells and whistles of the more expensive versions and I think the 'E' gives you a lot of bang for the buck.
I agree with NCgirl. you will get many different opinions, it just depends on your needs/wants and how much you are willing to spend.

I did go ahead and buy mine before school so I could learn to work with it before I needed it for clinicals. I don't consider myself computer savvy and just to prove it I had the thing locked up the second day I had it. My husband ended up on the phone with tech support to fix the thing. Now that I've had it and learned to use it, it is very handy.

I bought a used Palm M505 with a keyboard from e-Bay. I really like it and use it every day. I bought a 256K memory card for it.

Tungsten C, definitely the Tungsten C. Lots of room/space so you don't have to use those little annoying cards and its really fast. Plus, I think there's a $100.00 off promotion going on now, go to Palm.com to check it out. I'm not in anesthesia school but I use it a LOT where I work in SICU. I have a PDR, ER/ICU Tools, Harrison's, Spanish/English Med DictionaryAACN Tools plus my regular junk and I still have tons of space.

I bought a Tungsten c yestuday! It felt kind of wierd because I haven't even seen one in person. I found the cheapest on the internet (I think?!) and everyone has that $100 dollars off right now, but today is the last day. The mail in rebate offer ends today, so hurry up if you need one! I figure I can spend my pool time reading the instruction manual for the next 3 months, so I'm ready to go this fall. Thanks everybody who helped me decide.
