Nobody in my class uses a laptop in class and we are allowed to. I have the android phone and love it the most I have nursing central (we got a discount for our school) on it that has everything and I also have skyscape on it and tons of other apps I have found. I usually get the latest gadgets and this by far has been my favorite.

Ooh, just found out we can record but not use laptops. I guess that's a good start. But no knitting. Boo. I remember so much more if I can work with my hands.

I haven't heard of the Nexus one?? I got the slide our keyboard and touch android with Verizon when it first came out. I had a BB storm prior.

I tape record my lectures on a recorder that plugs into my laptop and uploads everything to Itunes.

Get a stress ball to squeeze or chew gum if it's allowed, it helps if you are someone that needs to move to absorb things.

It's the Google phone, but if the HTC Incredible comes out first, I'm getting that. No keyboard, but you can use Swype (check THAT out, it's awesome).

I have a recorder for my old ipod, so I'll use that. Bummer about the computer, but one less thing I have to tote around I guess.

If you want a PDA over a phone....you're really looking at a Windows Mobile device like an HP, or an iTouch, or a Palm. I have a Palm and love it, but honestly, of the three....I'd likely go with the newer OS (the iTouch) just because there's a likelihood that you'll be able to use it for a longer period of time.

So figure out which "nursing bundle" you're looking for software wise (I love Skyscape Constellation) and find out what the memory requirement is....then buy an iTouch that has enough memory & put it on there :-)

    Peace,
    CuriousMe

Thank you for this! I will definitely look into this and see if perhaps i'll finally be able to decide which PDA to get.

Yep, the HTC is the Eris, which I've heard is being retired in May. But that's all rumor so who knows. But I'm looking forward to a new phone since mine just shuts off randomly now. Hard to carry on a convo.

Im still not sold on Swype yet but I havent had much hands on time with it yet. I do like the move to Android OS but I am not quite a fan of touch only after my last phone. I was worried Android wasnt going to be welcomed as well as it was because it really is a great OS and not having to rely on RIM/WinMo and their horrible UI is great.

On a side note, I wonder how Motorola feels that the HTC incredible is now the HTC Droid Incredible.

Go for the Iphone and don't bother with a Kindle or a Nook. I was considering buying a Kindle but the day the Ipad was released, Amazon came out with a free app for the Iphone which works exactly like the Kindle. So you can read and buy books right on your Iphone thus saving 299.00 or 399.00 depending on which one your buy. B&N came out with an app to that replicates the Nook on your Iphone. Just love these things.

Isn't the iPhone a bit small to read a book on though?
