I got a PDA for Christmas!!

  1. My husband got me a PDA for Christmas! I am so excited, but now I need to know what software to get & where to get it..........

    I know I need a drug guide, a dictionary maybe, a med-surg reference perhaps, lab & diagnostic reference...........anything else????

It's a Palm PDA, it has 100 MB of memory available.

    Please give me recommendations!!

    Congratulations on the gift!

I get most of my individual titles from www.skyscape.com and I have an intigrated suite from www.pepid.com.

    Enjoy your new tool/toy!

Which specific programs from skyscape are you familiar with & what do you think of them?

I like it more than anything else I have (and I have a lot), but of course everyone's likes/dislikes are different.

You can download Pepid and use all features for a limited time which is something else I like about it. Others just let you use a subset of their product.

Wow, that's a tough one to answer. I like Davis drug guide (it's about the only one that indexes both brand and generic names together), also Tabers dictionary, and Steadman's abbreviation, but there's another medical abbreviation dictionary that is pretty good, too.

You can download and try anything from Skyscape but they lock major portions of their content so it's hard to see just what you'll be getting but you can get a good idea.

I've got to cut this short now as I'm heading north to visit my dear grandmother who's 92, in a rehab center and not doing well.
