Hi ya'll!!! I'm down south here in "the bootheel" of missouri, real close to the arkansas state line. Just an ole country girl, emphasis on the OLD!!!!!!!!

Specializes in ICU.

I'm in Joplin- aren't there any others from Joplin?

I start Nursing School at MO Southern in August...so ready for it to be here already. I think I might not even enjoy summer (which never happens), I'll just want it to end so I can start school again. (I've been out for two years when hubby and I got pregnant!!! :))

Specializes in none.

Im from KC, a first semester PVCC LPN student....I really don't like my classes b/c of the poor instruction but I love being a nurse (currently a CNA at NKCH) so i'll stick to it and do my best. GRADUATION DEC. 15TH!!! Then who knows i might get my paramedic or not im still deciding. I Graduated from North Nodaway HS in good ol' Hopkins Missouri. I despise the city :scrying: i miss having a quiet bedroom to sleep in without the sirens just listening to the bugs hit the bug zapper at night

I'm still a student so can't help much with any testing you will need to do, but I can recommend that you either call or walk in to several of the local hospitals to look for a position. It seems that just about everyone of them has positions for techs, patient sitters, or even unit secretaries or registrars if you're interested in any of those positions. With your experience, you're bound to get hired somewhere.

You can also check the hospitals' websites and look for the names and/or number of their nurse recruiters. That would be one person who could be very helpful in getting you the help you've requested and also finding you employment.

You might have to dig for some kind of contact information. For instance, on St. Luke's website, I found a link for someone to contact about their Student Nurse Employment which lists all the tech positions they have. She'd probably be a good person to start with for that facility.

Be sure to check out the SSM facilities, Barnes Jewish, DePeres Hospital, SLU, WashU, whatever's closest to you -- and Best Wishes!!
