Goldfarb SON at Barnes-Jewish College ABSN

U.S.A. Missouri

Published

I received an acceptance letter to Goldfarb and it was stated that I was waitlisted for Summer 2013 and Fall 2013, with guaranteed acceptance into the Spring 2014 ABSN program. I just mailed my deposit check so I should officially be on the list next week. I called today and the woman said there were only about a dozen people on the waitlist for Summer 2013. I have a bit of a unique situation. My husband is in the Army and will be taking an overseas assignment for a year while I (hopefully) make my way through nursing school. For this to work I really need to start in May 2013. Without having an official number of where I stand on the waitlist, can anyone provide some insight on how my chances look to begin with the Summer 2013 term?

Also, I've called the school twice to ask questions regarding admission, since I have a very narrow window of opportunity to attend an accelerated program. Anyway, each time the person I have spoken to has been very short with me on the phone and I feel like my questions have been a nuisance. Is this an indication of how the school is run or is it just a fluke? I have also applied to SLU's accelerated program and they have been awesome so far. I feel like if I get accepted to both programs, even with the cost, I will go with SLU just due to the attitude of the people within the administration side of Barnes.

Thank you in advance for any insight! :)

Hello,

Congrats on getting in!!! I am starting at Barnes in the Fall 2013 upper division and I have had really great help through one person at the school. Her name is Misty and she is Great!! She has helped me every step of the way and if you email her she will respond asap. Her name and contact information is located on the Goldfarbs website. I have called during other times when she was not available and talked to some very rude people. Dont let them get you down!

Any updates on your wait list?

I too am wait listed for the ABSN program @ BJC for summer 2013 with guaranteed acceptance into the Spring 2014! What are my chances at wait list # 18

Thanks

Ari

I meant to say I **CAN'T** PM you.

I received an acceptance letter to Goldfarb and it was stated that I was waitlisted for Summer 2013 and Fall 2013, ....:)

Just got a call from BJC about an opening for me for the summer 2013 program!

Anyone else?

I plan on going up to St. Louis sometime in April to check out the housing situation....

Anyone have advice on Barnes Jewish College SON ABSN program? I applied for the next available ABSN spot. I hear there is a waiting list that could push me into a 2014 start date. Anyone else apply?

You have to apply about a year out. From what I hear that's pretty standard these days.

So, Aritakum - How has the program been going? I'm sure you don't have a minute to write - but I am starting THIS summer - so I'd really like to hear your thoughts.
