Hello all, I have been accepted to BJC accelerated BSN for spring 2008. Just wondering if any future class mates are out there?

Hi,

I'm getting ready to apply for the Fall 08 start in the Upper Division program. Once you applied, how long did it take to find out you were accepted? Also, I've heard that they are pretty generous with financial aid...any opinions?

Let us know how it's going when you start!

Good luck!

I sent in my application back in June I think and they got back with me pretty quick. I called them to make sure they got all of my information and the admissions person told me they were sending me my acceptance letter. I know the new building is completed Jan 08' and I am sure they are increasing the class size. As far as financial aid goes, I plan on paying for the program. I have too many student loans as it is. Just the word "financial aid" scares me. Good luck to you...

Do you all know if there is soon to be a weekend/night option for the Upper Division BSN at Barnes? I read somewhere on here that there is, but the website doesn't say anything about it and I'm waiting to hear back from someone at Barnes.

:monkeydance:Congrats on getting accepted. I have applied to BJC's Accelerated BSN program for Summer 2008 and was wondering how long it took for you to get a acceptance letter. Also, what's your GPA like? My last two years of my B.A. ended with a 3.6, but my first two years had more credits and ended with a 2.33 (I wasn't as serious about school back then, unfortunatly!). I'm a little worried that they won't accept me because of the 3.0GPA requirment. Any words of wisdom??? Thanks!

Just curious, in which area is your first degree? UJust want to know which backgoung everyone is coming from and why they chose to change careers to nursing.

I have a background in nutrition and I am thinking about the same option. I am a nutritionist but it seems to be a dead end job with no opprtunities for advancement.

My first B.A. is in Psychology. I changed to Psychology because I started pre-med and after 5 years of going in circles because I couldn't commit to school (I was childish) I finally got it together and just really wanted a degree now. So, Psychology was the closest I could get with what I had already taken. Now that I have a Psych. degree it's even more obvious that there is really nothing you can do with it and make a half way decent living! I was going to go for my Masters in the Spring, but I decided that medical was what I really wanted. Then, I found the Accelerated program which didn't require me to start at the begining again and it just seemed perfect! Now if I can just get accepted!!! lol Hope this helps!

I am planning on starting Barnes in May of '08, and I have 2 friends that are planning on going the same time as well. I am just waiting to hear from them, but I'm sure I'll get in since there is no waiting list.

Have you gotten to know anyone else that is going at this time?
