U.S.A. Missouri

hey guys! i was just wondering who all on this website is planning on transferring from stlcc and/or applying to the accelerated bsn program @ umsl. does anyone know if we need letters of reccomendation? i read on some other posts about them and some sort of paper but the nursing receptionist said that i didn't need either. i've been talking to a advisor @ the college of nursing but there hard to catch up with without a appointment. i figure we can exchange info and ask questions to each other. :typing

thanks in advance!

oh, and if you all don't mind me asking, how in the heck are you guys planning to pay for that 30k bill???.... i got about :twocents: so far!!!!

Yea...I think we find out sometime in October.

I was wondering if any of you who applied for the Accelerated BSN currently have any kind of medical experience? I don't and am a little worried about that, but I do plan to start volunteering at least in November...

Yeah, I finally heard from them last week. I'm admitted to the pre-clinical track of the college of nursing. I called to find out exactly what that meant, and they told me it's a two-tiered admission process, and that's part one, and they will let me know about the accelerated program within a month or so. It's kind of confusing if you don't know how they work!

HEY GUYS!!!! Ive been conversing with most of u all who applied for the accelerated BSN program and In SOO excited to see all of u in class im may (hopefully of course!) we should make this the base group for what im sure will be 100% necessary study group... for those who still have to take the jr. level college writing at UMSL in the spring ill be sure to post on here as soon as the registration opens for spring. i would be great if we could all do it together! Best wishes! I see u all here when we get accepted! be sure to post it and shout it to the world....

^^^^^wow i really am excited arent i? lol

I'm really excited too, and I think that's a great idea!! I am dying to hear if I got in, they said it won't be till mid-October though. Ugh. I might be taking the last of my pre-reqs at UMSL in the spring, depending on, well, a lot of things. But if I do I'll be taking Microbiology, Nutrition, and Human Growth & Development. Anyone else?

Hey Lacey If you dont take them at UMSL where will you be completing them? Im taking every class at Flo except for that Jr. level college writing simply bc they dont offer it. In the spring Im taking Jr. level college writing, Human growth and Development, Bio-medical ethics, a capstone, and human sexuality.

I'm at Truman State in Kirksville right now, where I'm finishing up my majors in Theatre and English. I'm graduating from here in December, but I might be staying in the spring to take the rest of my pre-reqs here if I decide not to take them at UMSL. It makes more sense for me to take them at UMSL (or Meramec) because it's cheaper, but I signed a lease for my house in Kirksville until May. I'm not sure yet if a subleaser is an option because of my roommate situation. Plus I'm still waiting to hear if I got in, and there are a few other factors but those are the big ones.

I know...I can't wait to hear back from them! Study groups sound like a great idea...I love how we are already planning for next summer! lol I am taking Stats and Nutrition at Meramec in the Spring and then Jr. Level English at UMSL. Does anyone know when registration starts? The letter I got said I have to talk to an advisor after November 16, which sounded kind of late. And then I need one more class for insurance...so I'll probably make it a super easy one at Meramec. Good luck to everyone!

The suspense is killlling me! Omg why did this have to be the year they are falling behind on the decision process?????

I know! I emailed the adviser I have been talking with on Tuesday (the 20th), and she told me letters would be mailed within 2 weeks.

I was told the same Lacey...does anyone know what is taking so long? I run to the mailbox everyday like a lunatic...it's killing me!

I wish I knew what was taking so long. But yeah, I'm the same way. Only I'm driving my parents crazy because I'm away at school right now, and the letter will be mailed to my home address, so I'm calling home every day around the time I know the mail gets there. Lol!

Yea idk whats taking so long but my counsler said that they were really backed up with stuff, whatever that means.... Im almost happy in a way that they are late because im scared to open it! lol. Im probably gonna stare at the envolope for a good long time before i actually open it :uhoh21:. Ill be devastated if i dont get in!
