SLU's Accelerated BSN.

Hi:

I'm currently a sophomore at St. Louis University majoring in biochemistry but I really want to become a nurse after shadowing a nurse! I am so much more interested in patient care than in constant lab work. SLU offers an accelerated BSN program for people with degrees already. However, each year they accept a limited number of current SLU students (without) degrees. I'm taking the prerequisite courses this year and next year, I'll also need a cumulative GPA of 3.2, I'll try to bring mine up to a 3.3. I think I can get a 3.8 on the prerequisite courses. I then plan on apply my junior year with hopes of completing the ABSN my senior year, instead of wasting more time!

I'm just so worried about not getting in! Does anyone know if it's extremely competitive or not? It says on their website that for students without degrees, the preference is given to current SLU students, but I'm still so worried. I really want this SO bad.

What do you think my chances are? What are the acceptance rates like?

I've been thinking about volunteering at SLU's Hospital (not just for this program, but I really want some more experience). I hope this helps a bit. I hope I get accepted my junior year!

Thank you!
