LPN's in St Charles County

I am gearing up to go back to school for nursing. I am looking to go into the LPN program at SCCC after I take my science classes. I intend to eventually bridge to RN as well. Honestly I am scared to death to go back to school, but I have wanted to be a nurse all of my life. Now that I am done having my babies, it is time. My concern is that I will have a hard time finding a job in a hospital. Is anyone hiring LPNs anymore for hospitals? I really don't think that nursing homes are a good fit for me, and if it was a choice of working in a nursing home or a doctor's office, a doctor's office would win hands down. I am afraid I would lose important skills if go that route. Can anyone who has graduated tell me about the SCCC PN program or what it is like to be an LPN in St. Louis/St. Charles County area? Or where the best place to work is? Thanks so much!

Jen
