- Jan 11, '08 by nurse2blordA lot of the problem is that one of the instructors was being very selective in how she taught and how she graded papers. Sometimes she didn't want to answer questions after a lecture and left the room before students had time to more easily understand the content.
- Mar 29, '08 by vanillavirtueHinds is terrible. I wouldn't suggest anyone to go to Hinds Nursing Allied or Hinds period. A nursing instructor at UMC told me that, UMC's program is a lot easier than Hinds. I would suggest for people to apply at UMC or MS College rather than applying at Hinds. Hinds is a no no!
- Mar 30, '08 by care4u2010I really want to go to Hinds Nursing school, but all of the negative feedback may be telling me something. I want to go to UMC also. It is a bad reflection on Hinds when a large amount of student fail in the same semester. I know the Lord will bless me at the school of my choice. Any suggestions are highly welcomed.
- Mar 30, '08 by vanillavirtueQuote from dophtiI went to Hinds Nursing Allied and I know from experience. I posted on the other thread "the Clarion Ledger reports on Hinds failing rates," on how I felt about Hinds Nursing Allied. Another lady did also. Go and read that thread. If you can refrain from going to Hinds do so. Apply to UMC or MS college, because you will regret going to Hinds. A instructor at UMC personally told me that UMC's program is easier than Hinds and that Hinds was crazy! - Apr 4, '08 by 1BlessedRNI would suggest monitoring the pass rate and do your research on either school of choice versus going on hearsay all schools tend to have flaws, what works for you may not work for someone else.. always consider that and ask the Lord for guidance
- Apr 4, '08 by vanillavirtueWell, if she goes on the passing rate of Hinds, she wouldn't choose to go there. That is why the Clarion Ledger wrote an article about Hinds because the passing rate was low. Also, they had a low passing rate for the NCLEX. Also, in a sense she is doing research by asking others that have attended these schools. That is the best research you can do, by asking around and getting others opinions who have actually been there. I wish I had asked around before attending Hinds, and I got other's opinions after the fact.
