John.. yes Hinds has had some bad publicity in the past about the high failing rate, bad instructors, horrible school, etc.. But from what I have heard, things have cleaned up a lot over there. I dont know of any details to support this, but I just heard from some people that they have basically "cleaned house" and it is not bad at all anymore.

Or at least I hope so.. since im starting at the AHC in the fall.
Was it hard for you to get in at all? I heard it was competitive. But what happens if I keep applying year after year and never get into a nursing program. Am I supposed to just keep working the bad jobs and still apply?

Don't just try to get into one particular school try several. Since you don't like the job that you are in and you want to get into nursing school quicker. Apply for the LPN and RN program and which one you get into first go for it. If you get into LPN first you can always go back for the RN one year program. I know how you feel working on a job that you don't like, but don't quit. Hang in there. Your day will come. I tried to get into Nursing Allied and was rejected every time. I was accepted at HCC.
