    I've been looking all over but can only find places that charge you for the training. Like 800 bucks for a 5-6 week course. That fee included all the materials and all but it still seemed high considering a CNA doesn't make that much. I am looking at going to nursing school but thought being a CNA would give me some experiance, not to mention some nursing school require it to even apply. Any suggestions?

    I just stumbled accross your Post, If a facility Hires you they normaly Pay for it for you but you have to work for them for a while.

    Most nursing programs require you to take and pass CNA training. I have no idea where you can learn 'for free', but there are student loan and grant programs available.

    Yeah there aren't any "free programs" out there. You'd have to pay out of pocket first and when you get hired as a nursing assistant, you will get reimbursed. I took a class at the American Red Cross and it was 600 bucks. Be sure to keep the receipt though.

    Depending on what state your in some do offer "free" CNA training. I have been looking at one in Maine, and they pay for your training, books etc plus pay you an hourly wage while you train... I was just looking to see if MN had one because we may be moving to MN or Maine.. This obviosly shows that Maine really needs CNA's bad!!!!

    I asked this once, and everyone told me MN does not offer free training..that they know of. They did tell me that a nursing home or hospital will pay for you if you work for them under a contract.

    If you are not working for any of those two, take the program and when you are hired at one of those places, show them the receipt they will reimburst you.

    I am taking my CNA program this semester. I am not working right now, so I will most likely have to save my receipts so I can get reimburstment when I get hired at a nursing home or at the hospital THIS IS SOOO EXCITING!!! ^__^

    I instruct a "free" class in Minnesota. Here, you apply and are hired for a position. We then put you through a class (you get paid a basic wage for your time) and pay for your test, if you drop the class you have to pay us back for our time. I know a few nursing homes in southren mn also do this. Your best bet is to call around to local nursing homes to find out.

    In MN, if you get hired as a CNA in a nursing home within a year of taking the class, the nursing home has to reimburse you for the class and test fee. Things like PCA jobs or homecare do not qualify, it must be a CNA position in a nursing home.

    hey emily ive been looking for nursing home's that offer cna training classes in mn and i was wondering if you can help me do you have any in mind that can train me i actually dont mind working for them for a year because i need the job anyway
