Hi i am a Lpn currently living in Utah, I am in school now for my Rn and will finish in December( 2nd Week). I am joining my husband in Minnesota after i take boards in utah, but I need to work pretty quickly after i join him-he is moving there ahead for his job. how hard will it be for me to work in Minnesota until i get my permanent Minnesota Licensing? Can i get a temporary license to work? how hard will it be for a new grad with 25 years of LPN experience to get work? i am so excited about this move and finishing school. Any help will be valued. Thanks :nurse:

Nursepearl, MN is not a reciprocity state. You would need to apply and get your license to work here. It really is quite easy and only takes a credit card, a computer and a little time. I had my temp license in about 4-5 days and the permanent license in about 1 1/2weeks. That was back in '05. Depending on if you are looking for hospital or LTC, and the whereabouts in MN you will be living/working. In the Twin Cities, new grads are accepted at some of the hospitals with a long orientation period. Long term care is always looking for RN's. I hire new grads all the time.

How much is a RN license in minnesota by endorsement? I tried to find it somewhere on the website, but couldn't.

The fee for licensure by endorsement or exam are both $105. Renewal fee is $85.

Why not apply directly for your RN licensure exam through the MN BON? As I understand it you can take NCLEX anywhere.
