by in2ICU Jul 9, '11Hi All,
I'm new to Birmingham and am looking for a job at UAB. The odd thing is there are hardly and jobs in the critical care setting advertised on their website. Is the hiring that tight or are these units fully staffed?
Hopefully someone on this forum can fill me in on what's going on. I just moved from St. Louis - worked in the MICU at Barnes Jewish (1200 bed teaching hospital, nationally ranked #8, magnet), BSN, so I should be a decent candidate. Unfortunately there aren't any jobs for which to apply!
If anyone can provide some insight I'd greatly appreciate it. I've gotten offers from other hospitals, but I really want to remain on the cutting edge - continuing at a place like UAB. Please advise!

- Jul 9, '11 by RN1980try st. vincents in b-ham. great hospital. ive done many inservices there and ive found the icu staff top notch. uab has there own nsg program and many spots are grabbed by their students. however, if you still want uab you may have to start calling the unit directors and leave a message for them or drop a e-mail. good luck.
