Nursing Competency packets/projects

Hi all!! I am on a committee to revamp our ICU comp process. Instead of having the "comp" fair, we are going to develop the concept to have individual self paced projects/packets that individuals work on through out the year and have to turn in by a due date with evidence of intent at key points throughout the year. How do you guys document your competencies? Are the staff responding well to it? Are there good resources out there for these packets we want to convert to? Any comments are appreciated!
