Moving to ICU from ICU Stepdown

Hi!!! I'm currently working in a busy icu stepdown unit in a level 1 trauma center. i'm a new grad and plan on staying in this department for 2 years....including my extern time i'll have 3 1/2 years on this particular unit. I want to eventually work in an icu in another city....with 2 years as an rn, bsn will they take me straight into an icu position or desire me to work in a stepdown unit or medsurg...i know i could transfer to the icu in the hospital im at, but my goal is to move from my current city. I have acls and have been involved in several codes...we take stable vents and work with some cardiac drips..most of our patients are monitored..etc
thanks for your input

Unless the posted position specifically says ICU experience required, I think you should definitely be able to get hired straight into an ICU with 2 years of step-down experience.
