Critical care book

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the ICU and was wondering which book you would recommend to have as a reference? All suggestions appreciated!

I am taking a post-graduate critical care program and they recommend "Thelan's Critical Care Nursing: Diagnosis and Management".

I am a new grad preparing to start in MSICU. I purchased The ICU Book by Marino upon suggestion from fellow ICU nurses. I have found the book to be a fantastic resource and learning tool. It is authored by ONE author (primarily)so there a consistent flow of the delivery of content. The book doesn't specifically breakdown diseases rather it focous on broad pathology of commonly seen conditions i.e. hypovolemia rather than a GI bleed.

There is a website that is supposed to go along (www.theicubook.com) with the book however for whatever reason I am unable to pull the website up on my browser or any browser for that matter. Has anyone else had this problem?

The ICU Book provides a good critical care foundation. Stay away from the touchy feely nursing books
