Has anyone been accepted to Wayne State's accelerated BSN program without having taken a single prerequisite there?
It's my understanding that WSU gives preferential status to students who have completed prerequisites there. Just wondering if there are more than enough qualified in-house, existing-student applicants to fill the ABSN program spots without having to select (complete/total) transfer students.
Thanks in advance!

- Jan 26, '10 by Genu9ineI was wondering the same question. I'm interested in applying but i'm from out of state, and i'm wondering what the chances are of OOS students getting in?

Let's hope someone will chime in to answer this question. I'm very curious.

I believe most Wayne students go the traditional route. That being said, they do give first preference to those who take all pre-reqs at Wayne followed by those who take all the science courses there. Just be aware that Wayne focuses only on grades and to get in, you will need mostly A's and a few B's / A-'s. Also, they do not accept students who retake courses so keep that in mind. They started to do interviews last year but this was mostly a formality and does not weigh heavily on admission. I have friends who had 3.9 from community colleges not get in so there appears to be no rhyme or reason on how to get in. Its highly competitive if not somewhat political, Good luck to all of you. I would recommend going to an informational meeting but everything about the program can be found online. Expect only 48 to get accepted out of 300-400 applicants. It appears everyone is trying to get into nursing and Wayne is one of the best schools in Michigan.
