If you sent me your email I am scanning them so I don't have to type it out and trying to send it now

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to return them even if they are wrong. When I bought mine yesterday, I was told that "right now, all book sales are final; no returns."

Has anyone gone to the uniform/supplies place (can't remember the name - the one on the price list page)? I'm planning to head there today to get my pin, name tag, and patches. I might also get the pleated top/pant set there, but I want to check a few places online first. We don't need them until clinicals anyway, do we? (Not planning to wait that long, just not in a hurry.)

Umm.. yeah, if they gave me the wrong books in their error, then you better believe they will exchange it for the right one! LOL! ;)

I think I'm just paranoid they are wrong. I noticed on your FB that you have a total of 3 Med Surg books (the package w/2, and then the thicker one). I don't have the thicker one, is that one for Summer 2011?? I hope so. LOL!

I haven't gone to the uniform place (Detroit Discount Uniforms?). I really need to though, but I HATE driving to Detroit. I think I am going to order my uniforms online. I am 5'10 and the Allhearts website has the uniform pants in tall, and I don't think the store has them. I do need to get my name tag and patches ordered though. :D

The thicker one is the "clinical decision-making study guide," second from the bottom on the book list. Alas, I think we'll use it for both Med-Surges.

I went to the uniform shop yesterday, and all I can say is "Dear WCCCD, plz to be having a contract with another shop a little closer to me." I got two patches and ordered my name-tag (won't be in until the second or third week of January, according to the man there), and will probably get a few more patches when I pick up the tag. I just got one tag, but now I'm thinking I should have gotten another one. Hmm. Weird things about the pin, though: he didn't want to sell it to me. As in, I didn't get one because he kept telling me I didn't need it, it'd be a waste of money, etc. Eventually, I stopped trying. I have it marked on the supplies list, so I thought it was one of the things we actually needed, but... oy. I haven't gotten the uniforms yet, but I might just get them there when I pick up the name-tag and be done with it. Did get my non-clinical "uniform" elsewhere, though. I didn't think it'd be so difficult to find sweat pants with no designs and/or stripes and white t-shirts without a V-neck! Next up: all-white shoes! :lol2:

Went shopping today and got some sweat pants and shoes. I was there for so long deciding whether to get size 10 or 11 in the shoes I decided on and then whether or not to get L or XL sweatpants. The pants are by hanes and large fits me just right prewashing and the XL was WAY to big... ugh... decisions decisions at least I'm not procrastinating so far. That usually gets me in trouble :specs: Can't wait until this semester is really over 2 more days

Ohkay, so I am pretty sure I have all the right books. LOL! I went home and checked last night, and I do indeed have the thicker Med Surg 'clinical decision-making study guide'. Not sure what I was thinking. I'll blame it on finals and end of semester frustrations. :imbar

Urgh... now I really don't want to go to this uniform place, and I'm with you Shannon -- maybe a central location would be better than one in Detroit.

What pin are you talking about? The only pin I was aware of was the graduation one. I haven't really had a chance to look at the paperwork that we received at orientation, so I may be missing something.

Carlie -- what shoes did you end up getting? At the meeting they said that we should wear our nursing shoes w/our lab clothes (to avoid having to buy two pairs; however, if there isn't a shoe dress code for labs, then couldn't we just wear our current sneakers??). I'm sorry, but to me nursing shoes w/sweats is going to look kind of silly. Unless you get the sneaker type nurse shoes. I wish we could just get like plain Nikes or something, but since they can't have any 'logos', and Nike has the 'swoosh' I guess those are out.

I haven't even got my sweat pants yet. Where I am so tall, I have to special order them. If I just try to get the guys ones (so they're longer), the crotch hangs down to my knees. :angryfire So I get to pay $22.00 each plus shipping. Fun times. I just love being an amazon. :icon_roll

Hey I just got a pair of 20$ all white sneakers from Walmart. Their by Danskin and have a tiny logo but I'm pretty sure their ok. I'm pretty sure they could be an all white pair of Nikes the logo just has to be white not colorful. Not planning on using the shoes I got for clinicals but if I can I might cus their comfortable.

I really have no idea what pin it is - all I know is I have "WCCCD Pin" marked on the price list, so I thought it was something we needed. Ah, well; I'll ask on the first day of classes.

I agree about the weirdness of white shoes with our lab clothes. I ended up getting these (hopefully the small logo doesn't cause an issue - I'll definitely ask before clinicals), though, which are sneakers, so at least for me, they'll work with the rest of my bum-in-the-lab look. ;)

You guys don't need that pin that's on that list I don't know why they still have that on there. You need your patch(es) and name tag.The main things you may need that I use in clinicals are a pin light, stethoscope, black writing pen, a small notebook, a watch with a second hand, black sharpie and if I think of more I'll comeback.
