Wayne State University, DET Waiting for Response

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Hello, I am applying to Wayne State University College of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan for fall 2010. I have completed all of my requirements to be considered for an interview/ admissions (my application is complete). How long will it take to hear a response from WSU CoN regarding an interview and or acceptance notice?

Besafe, did the 1200 applicants include both traditional and CD2?

I'm not sure. The nursing school adviser just told me there were 1200 applicants for 2010. I was pretty stunned to ask any more questions after that LOL

"Eligable" as in all pre-reqs complete is what I was told. Anyways, 1200 applicants for all programs (ie. traditional,cd2 and masters). You will be given prefrence if you completed all pre-reqs at wayne with no repeats on your transcripts. Again, I applied to the CD2 program and know they only accept 48 students to both that and the traditional. I graduated from wayne with my degree in biology so I hope that helps! If you got an interview tho you got a really good shot at getting in!

I had my interview for the CD2 program a few weeks back. They said decisions will be announced on the 29th of the month. Do they give everyone an interview meets the requirements or are they selective? Is anyone else waiting to hear about the CD2 program? Good luck to everyone!

One of my friends had all his prereq's complete but never got an interview

Far as I know, there is a certain GPA criteria you have to meet to qualify for an interview.

I was told last year everyone who's GPA was 3.4 or higher got an interview, but I'm not

sure how accurate this info is. Hope this helped :D

Thank you besafe. I am sorry to hear about your friend. I appreciate your response.

Hi,

I'm impatiently waiting for the decision announcement (which is supposedly taking place today) also. From what I've read/heard, the status field that currently reads "Interview #" will update to "Admit" once an applicant is officially admitted. I'm really nervous just thinking about it all. Luckily, I've already been accepted to UDM for the winter (January)

term, in the event that Wayne State declines my application. I'm anxiously hoping for a yes later on today and that I can possibly call you a cohort in the fall (August) term. I can't even sleep because my nerves are so bad. Yikes. Good luck! :uhoh3:

Hi GinaNightingale,

I know how you feel. I am anxious about today as well. I will not be able to even check until later this afternoon b/c I am taking a CNA class and we are in our last day of clinical. Congrats on UofD. I was waitlisted at U of M. Good luck. Hopefully we will have some good news in a few hours.

Congrats! I went to UM for undegrad. You'll love the scenery, if you opt to go there. I stopped working in order to commit myself to school full-time, so I'm always at a computer. *sigh* However, I'm going to check the site after 2 o'clock. I'm taking Patho since I'm done with my PRs and I have assignments due tomorrow. Therefore, I'll wait a little while before checking WSU-CON. I'm fighting my sleepiness right now. LOL.

No, my interview was in early May. I guess you could say that everyone's plight to nursing school is looking familiar. LOL. ;)

I just checked the website because I couldn't resist the temptation. To my disappointment, it said "Deny" in bright red letters. I was a bit down at first, but at least I'm in somewhere and an alternate at EMU (I'm nervous about being on the waiting list considering there are only 30-something spots). Luckily, I planned ahead and applied to 5 schools in order to avoid being completely out of luck. I wish everyone a great nursing educational experience and future career! :yeah: Congrats to everyone who did make it!
