university of detroit mercy second degree program

U.S.A. Michigan

I am thinking about going to Mercy's accelerated second degree program but I hear they lose many people during the year due to grades. Is that true? Is it too fast and should I consider a 2 year program? I am a good student but I'd hate to spend all that money then not make it as they don't allow anyone to retake a class so I hear as other schools do. I am open to all feedback. Thank you.

Sophie, have you started the program or when do you start UD?

I start in May :)

be ready for the second semester!!! : ) actually, I might have something helpful to you if you are intersted that has to deal with the two week assessment. Is there a way to send a private message on here?

I'm sure the whole program will be tough, but I'm ready for the challenge :-) I've been taking prereqs and waiting to start nursing school for a while now, so I'm so excited to actually start and learn so much new information.

I don't really understand the PM's here. I think you have to have posted a certain number of things before you can do it, but I'm not sure, sorry...

well, if you want to email me feel free to do so, I have something that will help you regarding that brutal first two weeks that you might want. [email protected]. Sorry for being vague but I can't go into detail on here. : )

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll be ok :-) I'm just going to preview the book before class starts and I'm sure I'll be fine. And to be honest, if its anything at all questionable (which it kinda seems like it is since you can't go into detail...) I'd rather do without it. But I really do appreciate your offering to help, its very kind of you.

No worries. If you change your mind let me know. It's about 40 pages of very detailed notes from the first two week assessement class that you must pass or you are out. 15 people didn't pass it last semseter (so my friend told me who is in the program) so just let me know if you want it and I'd be happy to email you. It's pretty cool actually as I've looked over it in case I went.

313RN,

I was just wondering where you found the Michigan Nurses Association (MNA) Licensing and Regulation Book? I've searched all over and haven't had any luck.

Thanks!

I can't find it anywhere either!! I have all other books/items needed for the first semester. Wonder when we will find out the times and locations for our clinicals.

I found that book used on amazon.com, but when I searched for it there were only a couple copies available.

Specializes in Neuro ICU.

Actually I never bought it, never needed it.

You probably won't get your clinical assignments until week 2 or so. It takes a while to get them finalized. Just rememebr, what you get is what you get.
