Macomb Community College - 2012 HESI

U.S.A. Michigan

Well, another year means another time for more score updates. I am getting ready to take my HESI in a couple weeks to apply for the 2012 Nursing Program and I must say I am really beginning to get nervous! Thanks to their recent addition of HHSC-1040 (right before I was apply :banghead:) I am just curious how everyone did, and what was it like this year? I have no clue what to expect and I have been searching forever. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am really not worried about the Math or Grammar sections. I'm more worried about the Vocabulary, Reading, and A&P section that they added. Any advice would be great. I already have the Evolve HESI book that I have been reviewing from for the past couple of months. I'm still just really nervous.

I don't have a HESI score yet, but my GPA to apply for the program is: 3.925.

Again, any advice would be grand!

I am with you I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed

I received my letter as well. I wasn't expecting any letters until later in the month, so it was a surprise. Now the nerves really start kicking in. I have a 94 on the HESI and a 3.6516 GPA. The GPA is what is making me nervous. Much lower than I had hoped for, but the B+ in A/P really lowered it. Hopefully everything will work out.

I agree, let's keep this thread going. Nice to talk with people over the next few weeks until we find out.

I also got the letter on friday. i read the first sentence and wanted to cry. Then i realized it was not a rejection letter and thank goodness for this site its so great to hear other people got the same letter. Now we are jusst a couple weeks from knowing. I also hope othe applicants join on here. Fingers crossed all and before we know it those letters will be here:)

I'm going to call Monday since ranking letters went out they should be able to tell us how many applicants there were this year. Hoping for LOW numbers!

Let us know if you find out any info. Hoping for low #'s too!

Just checking if there were any new rankings listed.... I got my letter and I have a 3.9397 and a 88 on the HESI. I am hoping that my scores make the cut. I can't wait till the end of the month, this waiting is killing me !!

245 being ranked 152+alternates get in

Wow, I can't believe how low that # is this year. I've been worried about my gpa being on the 'low' end (3.6) but this gives me a little hope.

How many alternates do they take?

I'm not sure the lady I talked too wasn't sure.

I applied with a 96 Hesi, but only 3.4 gpa. I do not know how everyone is getting 4.0s! Some of those classes were super hard. Sounds mean, but I hope someone out there has a worse gpa than me... I really want to be a nurse!

I felt the same way too!

ok, can't figure out how to delete, I meant to comment on the girl who said she was going to cry when she saw the letter - but then realized it was just ranking info

That's the good thing about MCC being 50/50 hesi/gpa. Your really high hesi score definitely offsets the lower gpa, I don't think you'll have any problem getting in. Your total points for ranking can be higher than someone that has a 4.0 but a low hesi score.

I think (hope) with the amount of people being ranked this year, people with slightly lower gpa's may have a chance to make it in, of course I could be wrong and the majority of the 245 people that were ranked retook classes or just have 4.0's lol
