Macomb Community College - 2012 HESI

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Well, another year means another time for more score updates. I am getting ready to take my HESI in a couple weeks to apply for the 2012 Nursing Program and I must say I am really beginning to get nervous! Thanks to their recent addition of HHSC-1040 (right before I was apply :banghead:) I am just curious how everyone did, and what was it like this year? I have no clue what to expect and I have been searching forever. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am really not worried about the Math or Grammar sections. I'm more worried about the Vocabulary, Reading, and A&P section that they added. Any advice would be great. I already have the Evolve HESI book that I have been reviewing from for the past couple of months. I'm still just really nervous.

I don't have a HESI score yet, but my GPA to apply for the program is: 3.925.

Again, any advice would be grand!

wigtona - My letter did not give the classes/sections cause I don't start till Jan. However I'd like to get the Taylor book asap to watch the videos. Could you tell me the exact name, edition or ISBN number?

If you go to the class fall schedule on Webadvisor and search through the NURS classes, you can click on the specific class and it gives you all the book information :)

Well I called the bookstore last night and she said the books aren't even in till end of July. Like someone said, you can look on the macomb/bookstore site and it will tell you the req. books. There is something listed called "Macomb CC Clinton Twp Pkg" and there I saw the Fundamentals of Nursing book by Taylor, 14th ed. That was something I had called the bookstore about to ask b/c I don't know what the 'clinton twp pkg' means, there was no price, and it said to call the bookstore to special order. She didn't know b/c they don't have the books yet.

So I just wanted to tell you after July you could probably go in and get the book early or call the bookstore then for more info.

March Start---does anyone know when we will receive the info about the MSU RN to BSN program. I only received a letter saying I start in March and more info to come as it is completed...

I got a january start. Does anyone know if the books for the program change a lot? I would like to start buying texts during the next few months, basically while I am working full time to lessen the financial blow. Even though I dont start til January I am getting excited and nervous!!!!

this was on macomb's nursing page Macomb Community College - MCC MSU--RN to BSN Program Guide

Im a January start!

Any letters out about the vaccinations we need and all that jazz?

I still haven't received any info about the vaccinations, etc.

Anyone decided what BSN route they're taking? I looked into it but it seems pretty competitive/expensive. I'd like to take some fall classes for my BSN but am having a hard time deciding which program to go with.

I'm not sure either. I like that w/ MSU we can get a couple classes out of the way now, but $504 a credit hour- ouch! I'm not sure how many other schools have programs, but it seems like with most you have to have the ADN first. And I also haven't seen much about how competetive it is...

I know MCC has articulation agreements with a few other schools...I was hoping to get a few prereq's for the BSN done this fall.

This is what I found on MSU's school of nursing page...

"Approximately 60 students are admitted each fall and spring semester. The College receives 2-3 times the number of applications per seat. The average GPA for the cohort admitted for fall 2011 was 3.69."

has anyone recieved their immunization/ physical checklists? i saw on jlu 13th they were still waiting

I have received all the information I needed a month ago. I am an August start. I am so nervous. I just finished with all my vaccinations, titers, physical, etc. last week. Still have to run over and get my books and scrubs. Can't wait to start :w00t:

Ok so then they must send us all the stuff like right before our start date.

Good luck to you! I'm so jealous, January seems sooo far away..
