Hesi test at Macomb

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

I am taking the Hesi test in fall for the selective admissions into the RN program at Macomb Community College. After talking to some students that just took it, they said the study book did not help them much. For instance, they said there was alot of algebra on the test which they did not expect. I am wondering what is best way to study for it? If there are any tutors that could help me prepare for it? I have to do very good or I won't get in the program. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Jenny!

Good to hear from you! Sounds like everything is going well for you. Just restarted myself..went through a divorce so I'm at psych now. So I won't be done now until May of next year. :angryfire

My teacher was referring to the midway HESI, not the exit one. We'll be taking that one at the end of these 8 weeks.

Where are you working now? I'm still unsure of which hospital I want to work at here..may end up moving out of state after I'm done.

Congrats on being done and the NCLEX!!! :balloons:

Are you talking about the mid-curricular HESI that was taken in March or the one that was taken in December? I am in the graduating class of March 2007 and we just took the mid-HESI and my class did well. Except for respiratory, lol.

Good luck in psych, I had a blast!!! Sue, Marilyn and Mary are a riot!

The requirements for admission into the program were slightly different in my class. They weighted the GPA at 50% and the asset (sort of like the HESI, but not computerized) test at 50% for your score. My GPA was like a 3.5, but I had a really good asset score. There were people with 4.0 that did not do well on the asset and didn't get in so I can see where the confusion might be coming from.

I'm not sure sure which one she was talking about (it was Marilyn that said it BTW). Yeah, they are definitely characters, in a good way. :)
