Fired New Grad in Michigan Needs Advice ASAP

Let me start by saying that I am so upset, but do not know what to do! Who every imagined paying for years of schooling just to finally get a job and get fired. I was unfairly fired in four weeks from a major MI hospital. The worst part about it is that the preceptor did not like meat all. I tried to keep my mouth shut but by week 2 had had enough with her and gave her a piece of my mind. I went to talk with the manager to inform her of what was going on as well. Then 2 weeks later I was fired because of my preceptor said that I was too slow with everything. The hospital that I worked for had a any reason fired policy so there is no rights for me. I have so many questions to ask you like do I put that hospital and job on the application? Also, Do I even apply to the hospital system again? Will they or their affiliate's hire me ever again? The job market is really bad in MI already as it is without having fired on your resume and application. What would you do from here?

Sorry to hear this. I don't think I would put that job on a resume or application since you never completed orientation. As for applying to the dame system...I know that in the system I work for, if the hiring manager is interested in you, a manager-manager call is made. If you don't put the job on your resume, that call can't be made. However, if it is found out you were employed there & didn't tell them, you could be let go...so that's a tricky situation. These are just my thoughts. Best of luck to you.

Sorry this happened to you. But don't let it get you down just yet. Not every job is a good fit for everyone.

I wouldn't put it on your resume and I would also not apply to the same hospital system until you have another job successfully for at least a year. Like the previous poster said, managers talk and as soon as they know you worked there before you better believe the new hiring manager would call the old one for the scoop. Lying won't work because most official applications ask if you have ever worked there before, and lying is ground for termination. And let's face it- pretty much everything is computerized now and they would catch your previous file pretty easily.

So you got fired for being too slow or for your attitude after you gave your preceptor a piece of your mind? I had this happen to me and was given someone else to work with. As for this job, I would leave it. I doubt you are going back to work for this system.
