Hey Everyone,

Davenport University has as everyone knows changed there Associate Nursing program is to now a

BSN degree program! No problems there! I am however taking a Biostatistics class. Then I am taking a Chemistry class in the Warren Location.

As well do I need to have all my prerequisites finished to even apply in Febuary?

Does anyone know how hard the admission process is for the BSN program at Davenport?

How competitive is it? What type of GPA? Essay Style? Any tips to help out? What score does my TEAS

need to be?

How is the Davenport Nursing Program? Would your recommend it to others?

Anytips?

As well where are most of the clinical sites for the nursing program?

Thank you very much for your time, and I look forward to hearing your response.

Thanks guys for replying! I had a meeting with the admissions department earlier this week and I did leave feeling a bit more confident! After looking at my transcripts she said that she thinks I am definitely in a good place to apply for the fall 2011 program. I have a few more classes that I need to complete and I am going to do a few of them in the fall. I am hoping to get into the BSN program but will also be applying for the LPN program in May as well. That way I do have some back up. I asked what was the lowest GPA accepted this year and she said a 3.2. The essays and the reccomendations certainly weigh heavier than the GPA and the TEAS score if thats the case! She also said that I could use my ACT score if it was really good as opposed to the TEAS. I need to locate my scores though to see if its worth applying with them or not. Well wish me luck!!

Definitely! Good Luck + Hard Work = Success!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to check back in and see if you all have started the program yet? If so how do you like it so far??

we started on August 31st. It's definitely a time consuming program! But it is doable! I can't speak for everybody but i am loving it! We had our first exam this week and that was an experience in itself! Nursing is a completely different way of thinking....so it was a bit of a shock to say the least!

We managed though...and now we know what to expect. So to keep it short....it's going well! :) Have some crazy studying lined up for the next week though....all 4 classes have an exam as well as a few projects that need to be finished to get them out of the way. So there will be a LOT of time management/prioritizing going on.

Thanks so much guys for the encouraging words. Anoetos, I will not disappear LOL yes I have had 3 rejection letter so far and today in the mail I was rejected again at WCCCD. I am not a quitter, I will keep pushing and studying hard.

I want to CONGRATULATE YOU ALL!!! Even though I have never seen or talk to you a day in my life I know that you will all make GREAT nurses...study hard everyone and study together, stand strong together..and keep posting good things so when I come on here I will have nothing but positive threads to read. Take Care you all!:nurse::clpty::stdnrsrck::ancong!:

Hey girly!! I don't have enough posts in yet to message you back....so i hope you find this comment!!

I DO go to DU....i was the redhead you were talking to in the library the other day....after study group :)

Hello out there in the nursing world:) I'm calling all DU students who will be starting BSN fall 2001!!!:nurse:

Can anyone tell me more about the accelerated program at DU? Do you have to complete all the "Foundations of Excellence" and "Foundations of Health Professions" by the time you apply to be accepted into the accelerated track? Or can you apply and then finish up what you need in the summer semester? My schedule for this fall and winter leaves me needing medical ethics, pathophysiology, and their Diversity in Society class. I could easily take those in the summer if they'd consider me in the winter.

Does anyone know if you can apply to multiple campuses at once, or both the LPN and BSN programs? If you can, can you use your two letters of recommendation for the applications or do you need new ones for each app?

I emailed them these questions and they never responded to me. Next step is to call, but any info I receive in the meantime is great :)

I would practice the for the TEAS test. You need over 80-82% I believe to get in because it is competitive. The test has 5th grade science questions that really brought my grade down, but as long as your overall score is high enough your good.

A GPA over 3.5, your own essay (not paid for), professional recommendations, and the TEAS test...and you are in. Good Luck

Hey! Anyone starting in Fall 2012??? I got my acceptance letter today!

Current students, would love to hear from you all about the program and how it's going!

As did I! Congrats :) I too would like to know more about current students experiences in the BSN program!!!

Congrats, vm90!!!

I received my acceptance letter. I will be starting Fall 2012 at the Warren Campus. I'm both excited and nervous!
