Anyone heard of Athena Career Academy?

So I was searching on the internet for LPN programs in Michigan or Ohio, and this school popped up. I've never heard of them, I was wondering if anyone else had? I called the phone number, and they said there's no wait for the program, they have one starting in May and another in October. The school is in Toledo, and they have clinical sites in Michigan..You have to be a CNA or MA, they offer CNA training...

Hey Nina, I'm going to TSPN on the 5th to take my money for registration and testing. I'm going to try for March class. The lady I spoke with over the phone the other day said the next testing day is in November so I'll be taking that.

That is the same class I want to enter March 2009. I would need to

work as a CNA and do LPN. What area are you from? I'm out of Monroe

I live in Southfield and I'm going to take a cna class too before i start. I haven't heard anything bad about the school just that it's all what u make of it. You live closer than I do, but I'm going I don't care the distance. When r u going to take the test? I bought the book they recommended and it seems pretty basic, but that comprehension is what i'm struggling with so hopefully by November I'll be ok.

I've heard of WIA too but I'm not sure what it is. I know Detroit had a WIA program along time ago. I know u can get WIA through toledo if u live there.

When you get a job as a CNA They may help pay for some of it. I would ask before you get hired, and ask about working around your school schedule. I quit my job a few weeks ago, because it was a bit much with Med Surg. Im at PSI. The clinicals at our school can be days or evenings, im in the evening program.They are saying now dont count on having your choice of clinicals, they try to please everyone but next we will have 2 clinicals in 3 weeks. hi i was wondering after TSPN sends u the app why they tell u one date but once u submit the app they say another starting date? is this possible if the testing dates haven't even started?

do u know if they have an alternate list?

if someone fails the exam will they consider another applicant?

i called TSPN the end of oct but they sent the app in the beginning of sept so i mailed it back but the class apparently filled fast so the lady said the next class starts in july 09

MrsRaggs, you took your test already or your trying to take the next available test (NET)? I called and she told me the March class was just about full and the next NET test would be in November so maybe thats what she meant. So I'll be going for the July class and if don't get into that one hopefully I can get in the September one. If you fail the NET then you have one more time to retake it.

the program at tspn has increased this year to 11400 all the programs have gone up in ohio i believe have u sent ur app and takened the net test yet i think the classes fill up really fast b/c i was going for the mar 09 program as well but i called them back shortly after i sent the app and now their saying the next start date is july 09

so could u up date me on ur status

no i have yet to take the net i'm waiting for the testing date their suppose to send you in the mail

i'm hoping to get in the mar 09 program

someone told me that alot of ppl either fail the net or don't show up for the orientation session and their seats become available so i'm keeping my fingers crossed
